1600. I traded for one last summer; then I traded it + cash for another amp that was worth 2200 a few months later. If the serial is above 3000(it would have the last preamp circuit version) and is mint, no need for new caps then maybe closer to 1800. Imo of course.
Looks like you changed your OP?

Double boosted it can get there. Great amps.

They're really good for metal with a boost, and hi output pickups. I used to play one in a music store in Colorado I worked at after close super late. It could even do Metalcore with the right setup. It's a super versatile amp

Thank you. I changed the title, as I thought I may have placed my question in the wrong sub-forum.

I've been using a few pedals, and it seems to respond well. I had Soldano preamp many years ago, and I've been trying to approximate that sound.

I gigged with one quite a bit over the last few years of playing out...the OD1X was my choice. Easily 80s HR and more...I had the level and gain at 10am so lots more room to boost

Through a closed back cab will do better for hard rock and metal than through the combo speaker. Also an Eq in the loop and a boost in front really help.

I've got some pedals out on loan that I need to get back. I had a Marshall 2204 that crushed! The SJ is a bit more temperamental when it comes to dialing in tones. EQ section is more sensitive. I find that running an EQ through the loop gives the best results.

I just mentioned EQ in the loop. Yup! I agree. I have a 4x12 cabinet, but the impedance doesn't match the combo.

Do you have a Canadian version? If it’s US it should have 4,8, and 16 ohm out. Canadian are 4, 8. But you can mismatch as long as the amps out is lower than the cabinet impedance. Not the other way around.

Mine is a Canadian version. Okay, cool... the cabinet has a 16 Ohm rating. I was using it with a SJ head that I sold. I thought about plugging the combo into it, but I didn't want to risk damaging it. I was told years ago to never to run a mismatched rig, so I stopped.

You’ll have no problem doing it. It won’t be quite as loud as it could get with a 16 ohm cab; but the tone will be a little thicker too.

I was always pretty non-plussed about mine as the combo cab sounds boxy as hell and just left it at the back of the amp pile for years. When I plugged it into a 4x12 (v30) the thing really woke up and pushes an amazing mount of grunt for a small 50w.

Yeah, I can hear that... but, I think most small 1x12 combo amps are meant for PA system miking. If not, they work well that way.

I first bought one back in 2011, before I was here on RT...I'd have the amp next to my cab on the side, no one could see what I was using lol..had more than one guy come up and ask me if it was an AXE fx lol since they couldn't see the amp. This was a black tolex from 88. I ran it through G12 65s and V30s. Killer amp.

Silver Jubilees give me a strong gear boner.

Yeah, I bought mine early on in my GAS and didn't have a 4x12 at that point. Years later it dawned on me to try it again through the cab and there it was, a HUGE tone. Was gonna offload it originally but glad I plugged it into a full cab.

Great amp, the 1x12 will be a bummer though - Open back I think

The 1x12 cabinet actually sounds great when I add a little reverb via the loop. One of the best sounding amps I've ever owned was a crusty old Fender tweed. I think it had a 10" speaker, maybe? I wish I would have held onto that amp. My version of "heavy metal" tones are Gary Moore, Thin Lizzy, Led Zeppelin, 70's Aerosmith... Pretty much pre-Metallica era tones. I wasn't much of an 80's metal fan, but I sure dig Queensryche. I liked RATT "Out Of The Cellar" and all Randy Rhoads compositions. Eddie Van Halen was outrageous! I actually favored Ed more for his rhythm prowess vs leads. Wow! I went off track there... Sorry.
