QC: New update 1.0.2 as of 9/17

I'll do a Splawn or two up tonight, Clint!

I did both the Purple and Red channels from my Revv Generator MKIII last night, so those are up and available under my profile.

I have shots of my settings for each capture, but not sure if I can go back and add them to the capture description after the fact?

JerEvil is already yelling at me because I didn't follow his format, LOL But I've been kicking out a couple captures when I have a few minutes to spare.
Are you mic’ing or doing direct captures?

@Bad.Seed @JerEvil

Bit of info for ya.

My reference [0.00] is the 'Mark III Red' stock capture in the QC.

In order to volume match your captures to that:
[level adjustment via the VOLUME control on the individual captures]

J: D60 5 [+3.75]

B: Red III [-6.50]

The large discrepancy between you two doesn't seem right.

I honestly have been pushing my capture input to just under the point of clipping when I'm setting everything up. The only one I didn't do it on was the Badlander, and it's because I forgot, 2nd attempt. Lol

Question for you QC owners regarding captures...Can you play captures through a power amp + cab just like would with a regular amp model (cabs disabled)? I assume it has to be a capture of just the amp, not the whole rig?

Haven't done a capture yet. Is there a level meter during the process or are you using something outboard?

Really hope the volume matching issue gets addressed in the first major update.
Either that or I need to make a mental note to check your stuff first before Jer's.

Scared my wife for a tic this morning. The dogs too I think. :D

So far it seems like it can be done a number of ways. Or at least mic and DI like Kemper.

I'm going QC > Duncan amp > Marshall cab.

Found that I still need an IR when using captures otherwise there's just too much high end crap
to try and fix with regular EQs.

Yeah man I noticed I needed to up the level AFTER I shipped the amp! LOL! I used the "auto levels" when doing the captures. I will adjust moving forward.

Thanks. So are the regular amp models in the QC more suited to power amp + cab (no IR's)?
Currently running an HX Stomp + PS170 + Cab (4x12 or 2x12) with great results. But these QC captures sound amazing, from what I've heard so far.

Also, FYI... Tim Warner at LiveReadySound is converting the Spawn profiles I made for the Kemper over to QC captures. He sent me one yesterday and it is great! Nice of him to do. It's DI and Studio's with the Splawn Creamback loaded cabs

Same thing. Just use an amp model and not cab block. Works like a charm.

For reference I'm in a 10 x 12 crowded room. A half-open 1x12 is more than enough for this space.
My settings may sound like crap with a sealed 4x12 in your space.

So far I haven't found anything that doesn't benefit from an IR. But I am using the same IR with
both captures (have no clue if they are DI or mic'd cabs) and models.

If you have the Kemper way stuck in your head (ran Kemper full time for 2 years) then you need
to approach the QC with a blank slate. So far they are not the same in regard to DI and Mic'd.

Again, at least in my experience so far.

For anyone doing direct captures: what DI box are you using?

I have a QC on the way and would love a direct capture of my JMP.
I use my Torpedo Studio and just turn the mic's off. Also, It is going from the Torpedo, out to my mic pre's, then into the QC for a little coloration.

Haha maybe I should send the DI into my AFXIII preamp sim for some color then back into the QC

I'm going to try to do my Mark IV tomorrow. I will be using my Fryette PS2 as the load box.

Any tips or recommendations?

More captures are up as of last night. This is fun. Here are a couple I posted to my account.

I used your Splawn capture into my KSR PA50 this morning. It was fun and sounds really good. I do think though I prefer the QC going through monitors. I havent tried any FRFR's except the headrush that came out first(8 in speaker?) I may try taking it to my local GC or sam ash and try a power cab.

Have you tried a hybrid approach yet?
