What if Slash used an 80s Rack with Guns n Roses?

Just having some fun with a #34/36 modded Marshall SC20H...
As I just finished my rack a few weeks ago and had this amp here, I wanted to know what Slash's sound would have been like if he had used an 80s session style rack.

So I ran the SC20 into my load box and used the line out into the Boss SE70, which I set to Super Chorus. The SE70 went into 2x Roland SDE3000, with 250ms left and 500ms right with some modulation on the delays. Then it went into my H|H V800 MOSFET power amp, which I really like because of its fat, smooth tone. I used a 1991 1960BX with an SM57 on the right and an 80s 1960BV with an sE VR1 on the left.

This is how it sounds

Thats so 40 years ago. I forgot how wet those chorus's are.
My rack stuff is long gone. Way prefer pedals and why not they're amazing these days.

Yeah, the pedals are really nice now. There's still something about the old rack gear though...

Well i was in a county park this morning playing my 1985 Scholz Rockman X-100 outside its kinda "RACK" IN box so i don't have room to talk.
Fun gadget tho.

What if Slash played for Boston!? sounds awesome BUT I am so glad he didn't. That sound can exhaust the ears after a while. GnR never would of had that raw edge if he had.

Frankly I am just impressed at you playing the intro to that song correctly, holy shit it's like one of the most famous guitar intros in rock history and 1 out of 100 people play it right. I could not help but hear the chorused out bass line in my head behind it. I hate wet 80's chorus sounds but that tone sounds like it would have been perfect in an 80s Hollywood Studio.

Some of the YouTube covers are hilarious, especially with vocals.

Thank you!

Sounded great Eddy, amazing what a loaded down amp into a load then reamped by a big boy HHV800 can sound like.

The quality of the delays from those SDE3000 are fantastic sounding.:2thumbsup:

I'm glad your H&H is serving you well, I regret not jumping on one a couple of years ago when I had the chance....
