All guitars and bass are me. No editing yet, and no solo yet, but I was really diggin the nastiness of the tones. Bass is me as well, and I definitely don’t claim to be a bass player! LTD AP-5 into a BAE 1073 DI, into parallax, with compression and limiting added from SSL E channel.

Jackson custom shop B7 with dimarzio deactivators

Unidyne sm57
BAE 1073 mic pre
Horizon drive Boost

I was going for the nastiness of the album, and boosted a ton of 2-3k on the overall mix. It’s by no means done yet, but it’s a good start and thought you guys might enjoy.

Sounds great! You really got the right flavor for this one. Would love to you see you also do Twilight of The Thundergod by Amon Amarth or also maybe All That Remains stuff. I think you'd do great with those

Also, with boosts you may wanna try the Protone Dino Cazares Overdrive. I've not cared much for his other pedals I had (2 Misha Mansoor versions and Keith Merrow Overdrive), but the Dino one has been my favorite so far for tight and modern type tones. I've had the Standout, other VFE's, Precision Drive, Fortin 33, Grind and Hexdrive, Airis Savage, High Wind Dire Wolf, Deadweald Duality DX, Mud Killer, KSR Eros, and many many more (about 140 overdrive/boost pedals total I've been through), but all long gone now. Down to just 4 boost pedals and 3 vintage rack PQ's

What 4 made the cut?

Klon Centaur (what I use at least 95% of the time), Dino Cazares Overdrive, Thorpy Heavy Water, and Coppersound Broadway and then 3 rack PQ’s. The latter 2 pedals are not suited for metal, but phenomenal in their own way. Many will think I’m stupid, crazy or a cork sniffer for having a klon (and not liking any clones I’ve tried), so I try not to talk about it as much here, but to me nothing else touches it. Wish I had bought more before the stupid price jumps lately on all the good stuff. Even years ago I don’t think they should’ve cost what they did, but what can you do

that’s a killer tune! That’s a good one, if I can find drum midi for it I’ll do it. You’ve got a ton of boosts, i really do want to try the standout for sure. And no shame in living the klon, I loved mine when I had it, love the rockett just as much, great clone.

If you can't find drum midi for a specific song, I actually do midi drum programming as a side hustle for a bunch of studios.

The standout was cool. It sent packing the Fortin 33, precision drive and a few others I had at the time, but then I got a Furman PQ-3 and was quickly able to dial it in a way that I felt outdid the standout and didn’t sound clinical or pedal-like like the standout, but I did recently sell my Furman. To me the Klon has this 3D, vocal, magical thing going on that I’ve not remotely found in any clones nor the ktr (sounded brittle compared to the original). The clones have the same flavor/voicing and eq curve, but not what actually makes it special sounding. To me it’s like comparing fresh squeezed to concentrate oj (same flavor/different quality), but with all that being said for a lot of the songs in your clips the Klon may not be the ideal tool for the job anyway. Depends on the amp being used and particular song imo

Another wicked clip, man! Great tone and playing. Ever do any clips with a Mesa Mark?
