I'm curious about this pedal. I had to ditch the Buxom Boost, as it has a weirdness to it when running it with other pedals..

I want something aggressive, yet major tone-shaping options, while being more on the transparent side. Razor sharp lows.

The Tumnus Deluxe is on the radar.
Xotic BB
A Standout would be nice to try, but for $250 to $399, no thanks. A Dragon might be great with this Laney GH50L, but also getting priced well north of $200.
The Savage Drive sounds great. But, for some reason, it dulls the tone to my ears. Sure, it's aggressive, but it seems to suck some life and character out of the amp.

I've added an EQ after my MXR Custom Badass Modified, and it certainly did firm things up, allowing some super fine tuning, but, the MXR 6-band just adds too much sizzle/heat. And this is with much lower output pickups in my SG. Boss GE-7, even moreso. Plugging imore so. Amp's low input neuters it too much.

Tumnus Deluxe? It seems to be in Klon land, with a shit-ton of fine-tuning flexibility.
BB?
Don't say Timmy-the good ones are expensive, and the newer ones sound like dogshit.
Golden Pearl was muddy as hell. Couldn't dial it out. Like an OCD, (the pedal, not me).
Suhr KoKo Boost is another I have not tried.
Fulldrive? Which one?
Am I looking for a good Compressor after my OD to balance some frequencies maybe?
What's JHS, or EQD have out there?

i like my EHX gloveOD with my gh100s but i believe thats a ocd clone

I enjoy all of these.

Klirrton - Oh My Goat
Klirrton - Licthbringer
Revv - G2, G3, G4
Highwind - Direwolf
Suhr - Koko Boost Reloaded
Walrus Audio - Eras

I didn't like the Tumnus at all. Like other Wampler pedals it sounds plastic-y and cheap. There are much better sounding Klon style pedals out there. I'm spoiled with having a real klon, but the next best ones I've had have been the Ryra, Mjolnir and VFE Merman (if you can find one)

You might also like the Duncan 805 or Mad Professor Sweet Honey Overdrive (Handwired version). If I didn't have my Klon I possibly would have kept those. The Chandler Limited Germanium Drive is also really good boost that I think would likely work well with the Laney

I have a tumnus deluxe and really don‘t find it aggressive sounding. I do like the way this one sounds and how many options it has for tweaking the tone. For more aggressive option with the adjustablity I would go for the Dragon. The BB distortion sounds a little more natural to my ear and can still be aggressive. The 805 is ok just a little processed sounding to my ear but works great for downtuned guitars.

I really like the Tumnus Deluxe, but as a fatter lower gain drive. For boosting a dirty amp and making the bottom end stupid tight, the Koko Boost is fantastic.

The dragon definitely growls, which to me is aggressive. I also found the 805 to be a little processed or filtered sounding too, but imo not anymore so than the Dragon or Tumnus. Really except for the Klon, vintage pedals and a few others, the vast majority of pedals made today sound to me processed or cheap to some degree or really for lack of a better word just pedal-like. I remember the Mad Professor SHOD being more natural sounding. Maybe it’s from being ptp or the components, but I wouldn’t know
