Chunky - would like to hear a bit more direct sound.

Thx man - yeah this amp/ cab combo is freaking epic! Really articulate -in your face with tons of tight low end

I was surprised when I saw your listing...seems to fit your style well. Such good amps...the cabs are great too. Nothing really does what the D60 does in terms of the grit and articulation of the gain structure IMHO.

The truth is that I have the option to buy the 120 version with the loop from my buddy at a really good price! But yeah its a dream amp !

Not necessarily - I'm assuming you're using a phone mic, to keep it from taking a direct hit, just somewhere slightly off to the side. This video has a lot reflection (room reverberation) to my ears so by direct I mean more straight off the cab, regardless of the mic/phone. Make sense?
Gotcha! 9/10 I use my suhr reactive load with some custom made IRs and I love the results. I also like the room reflection when captured with my s9 - which has a great video sound by the way! -

Unless you've experienced the 120, I'd be hesitant. It's a great amp but in my opinion has some different qualities than the 60 (I preferred the 60 for sure).
I haven't been able to A B them but I will sure do before I make up my mind! Thx for the heads up

I've never played an older D120 but would like to. I owned a Series II D120 and Series II D60 and didn't like the new D120 much at all. It was just too open and I love an open gain structure. It also lacked saturation and was very dark until you cranked the treble presence which I don't mind doing, but doing so just made it sound really harsh. The Series II D60 I liked more than the D120, but it still wasn't a keeper.

The Older VHT era D60 I owned years ago killed as does the '07 I have now. Top 5 for me easy.
