Weird Head/Cab combos

Anyone have an cool head combos, even ones that might seem weird . For me a friend needed money so I bought his 6505 cab with v30s . It really didn’t good to me with anything until i tried my Dual Rec and Mark3++ . The combo is really good and only reason I kept the 6505 cab.
 
I run an Orange Dual Dark into a Mesa 1x12 with the MC90….takes out some fuzz, holds down the low end. It’s a pretty neutral speaker. Dig it.
 
Pittbull ultralead into Cameron 4x12 with H30s and ISP Vector 15inch 600 watt sub. (Note..I run the sub at 1/4 to 1/2 power so it doesn't sound crazy huge, just 3D sounding)

Any of my other amps thru a Randall Warhead stack with K100s in the top cab and Eminence 15s in the bottom cab.

Those are my main two speaker setups. Because I am an idiot who plays alone by himself and is compensating for my small penis.
 
i use a 1960a (now with the old c90/ev combo) with my mark IVa. i seem to like the 1960a cabs tone the best, even though they're lower quality build wise than the modern mesa cabs. the metal grill cabs have ply baffles with no t-nuts to secure the speakers, and the grill doesn't have t-nuts, so you can strip the holes that secure 2 different things. those cabs sound great, but that aspect always turns me off. 1 too many speaker changes and you're gunna be fuckin with wood glue and shit because that wood isn't threaded.

other than that.... running a block letter 5150 through an EV loaded thiele sounded pretty rad.
also, if you've ever piggy packed a fender champ through any 4x12, you'll know that sounds bad ass.

I actually preferred it to Mesa OS etc

It eventually bit the dust from years of gig abuse, but i transplanted the speakers into the redplate cabinet I still use.
 
Peavey bravo boosted with an SD-1 through a Marshall 4x10 with celestions

It was discustingly heavy sounding and tight. Honestly not heard anything since that comes even close.

My buddy has one of those marshall 4x10s and a dark terror, and honestly it sounded huge.

Yeah it seems like one of those combination-specific things, that happens so often with gear

Dark Terror dude has a jcm2000 DSL that sounds like complete ass with the cab, so that checks out haha

It's not that it's small....your just very...tall.....
 
In the 90s I gigged my early Dual Rectifier through a Peavey MS 4x12 with the stock Sheffields.
 
Zinky Mofo with Mesa OS slant 4x12. Love it, or the Mofo with a light 1x12 16 ohm V30 open back. Great for jamming in a small space. The Mesa just gives the huge warm blanket of sonic waves vibe. Like if the black monolith in 2001 was nice instead of evil.

That’s awesome. I still use the warhead 4x12 a lot til this day .but hey I mostly play alone too but loud great tone matters still !
