i use a 1960a (now with the old c90/ev combo) with my mark IVa. i seem to like the 1960a cabs tone the best, even though they're lower quality build wise than the modern mesa cabs. the metal grill cabs have ply baffles with no t-nuts to secure the speakers, and the grill doesn't have t-nuts, so you can strip the holes that secure 2 different things. those cabs sound great, but that aspect always turns me off. 1 too many speaker changes and you're gunna be fuckin with wood glue and shit because that wood isn't threaded.
other than that.... running a block letter 5150 through an EV loaded thiele sounded pretty rad.
also, if you've ever piggy packed a fender champ through any 4x12, you'll know that sounds bad ass.
