Le Shiek! Haha I bet it's killer.
With a name like like, it better be!
????
Lord knows who came up with this idea , but I’ve had a few “amp guys in the know” tell me this mod was thought out and implemented well based on the layout.

Some of amps just don’t get along with any boost pedals and sound better on their own. Some examples of what I’ve kept for that include the CCV, Original Rev Uber, Megalith Beta, Wizard MTL, Reason SM50

The GEQ Mark amps & Recto’s sound perfectly killer as is, but for many styles of metal need a boost to sound their best
How’s the Beta ? I’ve always been intrigued by it

None of my modded amps or iic+ need a boost. My hermansson is silly tight and immediate
Koko boost v1 is great on a Hermansson amp . It sounds the same just a tad bigger .give that a try once

It’s cool. In a similar ballpark to the Uber & Herbert, so could be up your alley. Very modern. Shakes the floor more than anything else I’ve tried with its crazy extended bottom end. I wrote about it more thoroughly when I did a NAD thread on it and I don’t go through bs honeymoon phases with gear. My thoughts tend not to change much from the initial ones

Yep, some amps sound worse with a boost out front. Those that I've owned would be...

VHT D60
Cameron modded Marshalls
Monomyth Marshall
A few other modded Marshalls I forget
You forgot because they weren’t worth remembering vs other stuff lol. Some of those amps already kinda sound like they’re boosted on their own. Some of the Cameron Jose mods I had were great boosted without the diode clipping engaged (not with it obviously), but the other Cam’s not so much

Sounds cool to me !

I never plug any pedals into any of my amps generally, although I do run a Phaser a lot now days but I have never run a boost or a gain pedal into a "dirty amp". I know have the perfect combo of running a 5150i in stereo with a Randall Satan (it is a pre amp I had made) into 2 cabs and then in a 3rd cab I have my Boss Katana that does all the "effects"... sounds massive

Any amp that has a core tone I like. I don't run a boost in front of any of my amps. I'm not limiting myself of anything, it's just something I never really bothered with. I find the best way to tighten up a high gainer (or most amps for that matter) is to back off the gain and tighten up my playing. That works for me anyway.

All amps in my sig except 2203. I always plug straight in otherwise.
I have tried boosts with the Monomyths. Def doesn't need them, but found no issue with some slight clean boost.

Marshall KK and the FBM. They both have built in gates. I can just plug right in and go.
Every other amp I have gets gated. That's it, just a gate.
I don't use boosts or eqs or time based effects/etc.
