I have an appt next week to get a medical M card. cost is about $90 for the state fee and $100 for the office visit

is it needed anymore since legal dispensaries are popping up now in NY.

or do you get a different grade and better prices through the drug stores?

was wondering even if my health insurance would pick up some of it as well

See above.
If it's legal in your state you don't need the card - it won't help at a dispensary with quality or price.

I tried getting insurance to cover it for my neuropathy but they won't cause I'm not fully disabled.
I'll wager insurances start covering some of it within the next 5 years though.

Lastly, try to find an under the table source if you are going to keep buying.
Dispensary pricing is INSANE.

I can get an ounce of really high quality weed for $200.
Same at the store would be closer to $500.

Your health insurance won't help out because it's still federally illegal. Here in IL/MO, the only reason to get a medical card now is to save a bit on taxes.

Stop being a square and just buy some fucking weed.

I've been putting all weed threads in the "Hobbies" section, so moving this there.

I haven't been in it yet, but the most popular dispensary in my town has a section for recreational and a section for medicinal. not sure what the differences are though.

Hey there! I think it really depends on your needs and preferences. If you feel like you still need medical marijuana, then getting a medical card might be worth it. However, if you just want to try out legal dispensaries and see if they have better prices or grades, then you can definitely do that too. BTW, I found a really interesting post about the best CBD for relief. You might want to check it out: https://www.mindbodygreen.com/articles/heres-what-makes-this-200-year-old-heirloom-best-cbd-for-relief. Also, I'm not sure if health insurance covers medical marijuana, but it's worth checking with your provider.

Depends on what state you’re in.

If you’re in Mass, having the medical card gets you a discount opposed to buying it strictly for recreational use without a card. Florida still doesn’t have recreational yet so the only way to get it is with the medical card (at nearly $300 for the office visit where the doctor tells you you’re ailments requiring weed) and there’s so many dispensaries in Maine they don’t seem to give a shit about getting a license and just buy it recreationally. Probably saw the best deals up there than anywhere else I’ve been with recreational.

There’s been no holding back of potency/strains based on medical/recreational that I’ve seen in the dispensaries I’ve been in.

15 year old me still lights up with joy when walking into a dispensary. Hell, I still get excited that I don’t have to buy brick weed anymore and that’s been happening for the last 20 years!

Ok.
My card came yesterday.
There's a dispensary right near work almost within walking distance.

Went today.
Holy shit the prices are cheap. They even run sales.
Buy one get one half off.
A weed tech stays with you during the whole shopping experience.

You can buy various strengths from mild to wild.

I kept it in the middle range.

8ths going for about $35.
1/4s about $55

Not everything comes in 1/4s

Plus gummys, creams, tinctures and everything in-between.

I spent $259 and come out with a small shipping bag full of adventures.

And no fucking lines where the whole neighborhood can see you. Very discrete.

Bunch of young hotties in there buying and giggling.

I'm set for about 3 months.

Highly recommend a state card for the ?.
You'll get it back in the long run
