Safety makes a lot of jobs tougher and take longer.
I’m glad they are there though. I’m a big workplace safety guy.The big business lobby that works 24/7 to weaken OSHA laws would absolutely agree with you!

I’m a big workplace safety guy.
He and the Jackbear guy and Findthetone are hypercringe stupid.
6. Alec should have checked it. Period.
Did he think it was a prop gun? Or just loaded with blanks?Hate Baldwin with a passion. Still find it ridiculous to try to charge him for using what he thought was a prop gun.

I reckon a trained stunt person would be the one falling off the roof, and I’d also bet he/she would check the matt they are falling in to first. That's the point. It's not for him to care about.
Did you see the movie Heat? During that famous bank heist scene you had dozens of
actors firing dozens of weapons at each other for literally minutes on end.
Was each actor responsible to double check the specifics about the props they were given
by the prop master?
If an actor is going to push an extra off a roof should they have to check that the catch bag
below has been inflated properly?
It's an absurd example but see what I mean?
I don’t believe for a second that Alec has not been trained, nor doesn’t know how to check a gun to see if it’s loaded
Agreed. But still think it shouldn't be held up as a salient point.
On a set he's an actor.
Not a second layer of safety inspection.
I guess I just have trouble separating it from my over all feeling that if real live guns are going to be used for something as frivolous as a movie, there should be a big asterisk next to it.
It’s a tool designed for one and only one purpose and anyone that is allowed to handle one should be implicitly intimate with how to handle one.
It’s definitely a big grey area to me whether he should be held legally accountable or not. And honestly I don’t exactly care at the end of the day.Again, totally get it.
I just want the focus to be all on the folks who are suppose to make it 100% safe for the actors.
If Alec takes any blame for not double checking the gun then it's going to make movie making
really weird moving forward.
And if you are a movie producer, wouldn't you also be responsible for safety on the set?
Can you imagine the gun safety issues in a movie like the John Wick series.
