I get what you're doing there. It's like a modern version of what they did on the Judgement Night soundtrack. At least that's the first thing that popped into my mind.

To be frank though I'm not grooving with it. I think it has more to do with the lyrical style that's being used. For me they're just not fitting together the right way. Taking the riffs alone they're heavy and angry feeling. The lyrics are all choppy which takes away from the heaviness of the riffs and it just doesn't flow right.

If you want to go heavy riffs, I think rap vocals that are heavy and gravely would work better. Already mentioning the J.N. soundtrack; Ice T and Onyx are the first ones that come to mind. Their lyrics are always heavy and pissed off feeling. To me that would fit much better with metal riffs you have going.

Hopefully you don't take offence to the critique, just wanted to offer an honest opinion aside from rap=crap that's already been handed out.

Different strokes for different folk’s.
For me its a no go.

i take offence when people dont criticize with hideously vile attacks aimed to ruin someones soul. i agree it could flow better in parts but i didnt really put much thought into it, just played the first riff in A from my phone and went with it. the fact that i can remove any lyrics or instrument now and do something like this is what is mind blowing to me, definitely gonna try it with some more mainstream songs everyone knows

Oldschool rap, yes. 2Pac, NWA, GetoBoys.
Also dig Cypress Hill.
Eminem - most technically gifted rapper I've heard.

In short - yes. But it's like anything else, I have my selection of yays and definite nays.

I dig a lot of the early/mid 90’s stuff that was popular when I was in 6th grade; Snoop, Dre, Tupac, etc. I think the latest I extend with that is JayZ and Eminem towards the late 90’s or whenever JayZ’s black album came out, I really loved that album.

I gained most of my appreciation for rap music by riffing over it. I was already a huge Pantera fan and some of those rap beats/rhythms are great for writing groove metal riffs over. When I was fresh out of high school, my best friend‘s mother was dying of cancer and she asked me to move in to help her with her son and mother. Her whole family is black and while she was a metalhead, her brothers weren’t, by any means. Me playing guitar over rap songs was a big bonding experience for us in a rather trying period for them. It simultaneously opened my eyes up to the groove aspect of hip hop while showing them guitars weren’t just for redneck shit. :ROFLMAO:

I love old school, clean rap like Fresh Prince of Bel Air style. I don't actively listen to it, but it's fun.

Edit...this came out when I was in the military. I know this song by rote.
As in...yes, I can recite the lyrics as they go by.

I also know this song by rote. Heard it at least a hundred times.

You’re willfully fucking ignorant if you think “rap is not music”. Just like any other genre, there is a sea of garbage out there, but once you pull your head out of your own ass and look around you can find gold.

I'm a big fan of rap music too! It's awesome to see your enthusiasm for blending rap with groovingly brutal riffs. It's always exciting when artists experiment and bring something unique to the table.

I really enjoy modern trap/rap. I know that's probably sin to say here haha, but a few artists are taking guitarist out on tour with them. I really enjoyed this performance of Young Thug with a band. Guitarist has great clean tones through the Kemper / Orange. I get it's not for everyone though!
