I haven't been to a concert in decades , how long is the average play time with most bands ?

They're coming here later this year and I'm thinking of getting tickets.

My young daughter is a fan, so I'll probably end up going.

Almost never more than an hour and a half in my own experience recently. Billy Gibbons, RHCP, Marcus King, Louis Cole, Thundercat etc.

I brought my 16 years old daughter who is also a fan. She loved it. She wasn't half proud to wear the 92 GnR tour shirt I bought 30 years ago.

Real amps or digital as most seem to be using these days? :geek:

If you like GnR go. It’s a great show

A good hour of that is probably extended jams though. My one take away is that SLASH played WAY too much for a guy of his ability. He was always a fantastic player in the context of what he wrote for the song but less a solo spot guy like YJM or Lynch. Yet, he has this monster solo spot and then goes off on outro solos all over the place and I thought yeah i get it, the same patterns over and over in that super choppy phrasing he is known for. It's cool.... but not when you don't know when to stop. It does seem like he has gotten better technically over time but there is still a ceiling for his virtuosity and he has reached it.
As long as it isn’t filler IMO he’s earned that—it’s a rock concert. Page had some godawful ”noise solos” lol.

It’s been a while but watching YJM solo live kind of glazes me over at a certain point. Personally I’d rather see Slash wank away than Lynch. But yeah, good time to go grab a beer!
