It finally happened.

I was at the gym this morning and it finally happened to me. I knew they’d get me one day but I was hoping to die first. There is some terrible music pumped through the Planet Fitness sound system and today was my terrible day. I was in the middle of my workout so I couldn’t leave.

You see, I’ve never heard an entire Guns N’ Roses song before. I’ve either left or had earbuds or shut it off if the radio was mine to control. Sweet Child of Mine came on. I viscerally hate that intro and, as it turns out, the rest of the song as well. I don’t get their popularity. I despise the vocals and the solo seems so stolid and rote. I must be missing something.

My poor virgin ears have been violated. I’ll never be the same.
 
Me and a buddy saw them in concert on their big headline tour.....the one where dickhead played the piano for twenty minutes. Anyway I was done after that. The bumble bee melon boys played for 30 minutes and gnr was three hours late. Axl proceeded to act like a cunt for the whole concert. repeatedly stopping the show over dumb shit. Fuck Axl......

You do not miss a thing. I feel exactly the same way and never spent a cent on anything G&R.
In complete hindsight, and only in my humble opinion, their explosion happened because:
1. They very quickly ditched their glam look right before really getting noticed.
Everyone was sick of the hairspray, spandex, and makeup - G&R were old school dangerous by comparison.
2. Slash played the 70s classic LP when EVERYONE else was doing pointy whammy guitars.
3. Axel was an outlandish asshole prone to spectacle. MTV and everyone else ate that up.
 
I always thought they were a pretty killer rock band that now basically qualifies them as classic rock. I say that as not a huge fan of rock music but I can enjoy some Guns n Roses and some AC/DC on my short list. Plus the guitar tone is pretty good all around. Compared to a lot of what gets played these days that stuff is a godsend if you are stuck listening to broadcast radio, believe that.

Change your diet. I highly recommend keto. You'll be eating bacon, and fatty meats while the fat melts off your body. Not shitting you.

I did keto for 3 years but I’m on a bodybuilding diet now. I got up to 215 and now trying to cut.

I don’t do bacon. I’m kosher only. Well, biblically kosher not the made up extra kosher rules.

Appetite was phenomenal IMO. After that everything else was total crap. Something GnR and Zakk Wylde have in common. First album with each was great and all the shit after was.......shit.

AFD was somewhat decent. I couldn't listen their stuff after that.
They aren't a band I would choose to put in and listen to. My wife is a fan of theirs so I have to hear it in the car occasionally.
