Meanwhile in California...

On the one hand I can laugh at this and say how is this a bad thing... but really it's just more degeneration and about what I'd expect from California with its tent cities, absurd unAmerican laws and its human turds on the footpath (sidewalk U.S.). You can have California - I'll stick to New South Wales thanks - none of that and the same climate pretty much.

That's way too long for me to watch but chicks in thongs is no different than the beach and prostitution should be legal IMO so. :dunno: I can't comment other than that because I only watched the first minute or two.

This bullshit again.

When most people think of California they think of our 6 big cities: L.A., S.F, Oakland, San Diego, Sacramento and San Bernardino. They're facing some BIG problems. I don't deny that. Most people in our state don't live in those cities. Point the blame for the shit in S.F. streets on an idiot Judge on the Federal (Not State, NOT City) Ninth Circuit Court. That Court has jurisdiction over several Western U.S. States. That FEDERAL (NOT State, NOT City) Court made it illegal for Police to clear homeless encampments. The LIBERAL City Government of San Francisco is appealing that clueless decision of the idiot Judge, because they are PISSED OFF about it and rightly so. In fact, most of Cali is pretty cool. I grew up in the midwest. Moved here 41 years ago. Moved away twice for job transfers, 1 in the midwest, 1 in the south. Each transfer lasted about a year. Both times I couldn't stand it in those places. Couldn't wait to get back home to Cali. I learned my lesson. I'll never leave Cali to live in any other state again. (I'm sure Texans are glad to hear me say that. LOL My wife is from Texas and she's disgusted by what's going on there.)

The most dangerous American city in America is St. Louis, Missouri... right smack in the midwest, the supposedly wholesome, God fearing part of the USA.

The 15 most dangerous cities in the USA:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/laurab...st-dangerous-cities-for-2023/?sh=43db5399309a
  1. St. Louis, Missouri
  2. Birmingham, Alabama
  3. Baltimore, Maryland
  4. Memphis, Tennessee
  5. Detroit, Michigan
  6. Cleveland, Ohio
  7. New Orleans, Louisiana
  8. Shreveport, Louisiana
  9. Baton Rouge, Louisiana
  10. Little Rock, Arkansas
  11. Oakland, California
  12. Milwaukee, Wisconsin
  13. Kansas City, Missouri
  14. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
  15. Richmond, Virginia
You'll notice that most of 15 most dangerous cities are in the south and the midwest.

I'm glad so many people think we're stupid to live here; it means they'll gladly stay away. Fine by us, we don't want 'em here, just like they don't want us in their states!

So by all means, bash California to your heart's content. I'll just keep on enjoying my life in our small town of several hundred people on a pine tree covered mountain with my wonderful, sexy wife, our grown kids and our wonderful grandkids and great-grandkids.

Oh, and we're not rich. We're lower middle class and we're doing just fine.

BTW, we get accused of being "Godless" a lot. Hmmm... we've got millions of Christians here. Millions of Trump fans, too.

I always wanted to visit Australia. I hear it's wonderful. Have a good day.

Oh? I hadn't noticed. 41 million of us enjoy living in squalor? Huh.
42 million and shrinking fast because the best and brightest are leaving your state in large numbers for greener pastures. Because cali is squalor. Just about every major city in your state is a complete cess pool. You guys are going green but if someone drilled Newsom's hair they will find enough grease and oil in there to run America forever.

Gavin is an excellent Governor. We like him so much that we re-elected him when that stupid recall election took place.
You lost me when you said that. He is a communist bastard. He is commiefornias version of Trudeau, with a little more diabolical evil thrown into the mix.

Face it, bad news sells and that’s what we usually get. I love my area of Indiana but wouldn’t live in Elkhart or Hammond for anything….humanity cesspools attract like-minded individuals.

Horseshit.

And we're not commiefornia. Our state is not Marxist. Diabolical evil? Dude, take your meds. What glorious state do you live in?

Oh,bullshit. Sounds like FOX Noise boilerplate. Your generalizations and exaggerations are ridiculous. I live here. I know what's going on. I clearly stated that our big cities do have some major issues. We're not alone in that. We'll deal with them as best we can. That's anyone can do. For example, The tent cities are here because, as I stated, The Ninth Circuit Court (a FEDERAL Court) has forbidden Police in our state from clearing homeless encampments. Ninth Circuit covers several states. As far as shrinking fast, that's another crock. The best and brightest are leaving? Some are, true. Butt we've got new "best and brightest moving" here and most companies are staying put here. Our economy is kickin' ass and we have a healthy budget surplus, unlike the MAGA fools, who added 7.8 trillion added to the national debt. Do we have some clueless people making some stupid laws? Yes, and so does every other state in the country.

As I stated in my earlier post, more people live outside the major cities, and no they're not living in squalor.

Mass exodus? Recent data shows more people moving to California

https://www.cbsnews.com/sacramento/...-data-shows-more-people-moving-to-california/

"Rebecca and her husband, Travis, run their own photography and lifestyle business called Awesomeness.us. A business project took them to Texas, but after two and a half years, they were ready to come back — and it appears they're not the only ones."

"And so we thought, it's a no-brainer. We're going back to Cali," Travis Hoehne said.

Housing analysts have pointed to several factors lowering California's population in recent years: a slowing birth rate and higher death rate, especially since COVID-19, plus changes in immigration policy slowing migration to the U.S.

Texas? People died because you're not in the national power grid. You've got a real paradise there in the Lone Star state. Suuuuure:

Texas officials put the final DEATH TOLL from last year's winter storm at 246 (That's FreeDUMB)

https://www.npr.org/2022/01/03/1069974416/texas-winter-storm-final-death-toll

"The Texas Department of State Health Services adjusted the number of people who died from last February's storm to 246 people — up from July's tally of 210. The victims, who spanned 77 counties in Texas, ranged in age from less than one year old to 102."

Last February's massive winter storm spread ice, snow, and freezing temperatures throughout Texas. The state's weak utility grid couldn't stand up to the record-breaking cold and left millions without power for days.

I'd call that a
MAJOR problem.

And then you have this going on in your state:

IntelBrief: Thou Shalt Seek Dominion: Recent Texas Legislation Reflects the Strengthening of Christian Nationalism

https://thesoufancenter.org/intelbrief-2023-june-5/

"The Texas Senate bill reflects the strengthening of the Christian nationalist movement in the U.S., which aims for the U.S. to be declared a Christian nation and for the government to promote a specific interpretation of Anglo-Protestantism (which you have correctly identified as heresy) as the country’s official culture, law, and framework, and is antithetical to traditional interpretations of the separation of church and state codified in the U.S. Constitution and Bill of Rights."

"In late May, the Texas House of Representatives passed Senate Bill 763, which allows Texas schools to use allocated safety funds to pay for unlicensed chaplains to perform the duties of school counselors.
Proponents of the bill say it forms a part of their approach to addressing mental health and school safety concerns, particularly in the wake of several deadly mass shootings in the state and nationwide and in the absence of any progress restricting access to guns. The bill would not only allow a school district to let volunteer chaplains in Texas public schools but also allow a school district to hire a chaplain instead of a certified school counselor. The recently passed bill does not require chaplains to be certified by the State Board for Educator Certification, a certification that school counselors in the state are currently required to obtain. In addition to passing a background check, all a person would need in order to become a chaplain under the new Texas bill is an endorsement from a religious organization and have some training to meet the Department of Defense chaplain standards."

Florida:

Is Florida the top state Americans want to move to, or move out of? We have some answers.

What are the other most common states people are trying to move out of?

  1. Florida
  2. Utah
  3. Idaho
  4. Colorado
  5. New York
  6. Arizona
  7. South Carolina
  8. Texas
  9. Kansas
  10. Washington

In the last few months, people have been repeatedly warned to stay away from Florida by advocate groups due to they may be targeted by Florida's new laws that, among other things:

For starters, Hurricane Ian devasted large parts of the state, particularly Southwest Florida. Ian was responsible for over 150 direct and indirect deaths and over $112 billion in damage, making it the costliest hurricane in Florida's history and the third-costliest in United States history.

Due to the severe damage to their homes or livelihoods, many have to jumpstart their recovery journey and relocate out of the state, whether temporarily or permanently.

Another major reason is the rising cost of living, particularly with the surge in demand for homes and apartments as more people move to the state. According to Rent.com’s May 2023 Rent Report, the median rent in Orlando is $2,153, in Tampa it’s $2,255 and in Miami, it’s $3,066. All are higher than the national median rent of $1,967.

Lastly, while political discourse isn't limited to one state, Florida has made the headlines more recently with legislation pushed by Gov. Ron DeSantis.

  • Restrict gender-affirming care
  • Require people to use bathrooms aligned with their sex assigned at birth
  • Ban children from attending vaguely defined "adult live performances"
  • Ban nearly all abortions after 15 weeks (with a 6-week ban looming)
  • Allow concealed carry of firearms without training or permits
  • Allow medical providers to refuse treatment based on their personal beliefs
  • Add the harshest restrictions on undocumented immigrants in the United States

Florida rocked by home insurance crisis: ‘I may have to sell up and move’
https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/jul/15/florida-hurricane-insurance-crisis-climate

Soaring hurricane-cover premiums are bad news for the state’s homeowners – and Ron DeSantis is accused of dragging his feet

Because cali is squalor.

Again, that's bullshit, and I addressed that in my earlier post.

Mark Twain has some advice for California bashers:
Get your facts first, then you can distort them as you please." - Mark Twain

California: You pay 600-800k to live in a neighborhood where there are gunshots at night. DUMP.

 What neighborhoods are you referring? You don't have crime problems in Texas?

Guns? A Texan lecturing us on gun insanity? Hah!

Firearm Mortality by State

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/pressroom/sosmap/firearm_mortality/firearm.htm

Deaths from firearms keep climbing in Texas, decades after lawmakers began weakening gun regulations

https://www.texastribune.org/2023/05/10/texas-gun-fatalities-laws/

"The rate of firearm-related deaths in Texas has reached a level not seen since the 1990s. Texas lawmakers have approved more than 100 bills that loosened gun restrictions since 2000."

@VonBonfire, you're obviously a good guy and level headed, but when it comes to California, facts are bouncing off of you like BB's off a tank.

Same Johnny, I just wanted to razz you a little. I have visited family in places like vacaville, suisun, oakland, etc. My grandmother was from oakland. I first visited during the original crack epidemic and it wasn't a pretty place. She was afraid of break ins back then. I had an uncle in suisun. Went there in the 90's. Was a decent neighborhood during the day but people were shooting guns there after dark. 600k house on a tiny 1/8 acre lot. No thanks.

Venice beach is full of canals and gondolas and is sinking at high tide because it was built on a swamp and tree stumps and now the tree stumps are sinking into the mud. So pretty soon all the roller bladers on the footpaths will need to wear life jackets. The hills in San Francisco where they have car chases don't get California's legislated electric cars airborne like petrol cars because their batteries are too heavy... There are countless more problems in California... Mt Shasta sounds like you are taking a bog... eg. Hang on mate I just need to do a shasta...
