Ok I wasn’t going to play into the horseshit and I stumbled across this

“The discovery of ivermectin has been described as a combination of "chance and choice." Merck was looking for a broad-spectrum anthelmintic, which ivermectin is indeed; however, Campbell noted that they "...also found a broad-spectrum agent for the control of ectoparasitic insects and mites."[78]

Merck began marketing ivermectin as a veterinary antiparasitic in 1981.[5] By 1986, ivermectin was registered for use in 46 countries and was administered massively to cattle, sheep and other animals.[79] By the late 1980s, ivermectin was the bestselling veterinary medicine in the world.[5] Following its blockbuster success as a veterinary antiparasitic, another Merck scientist, Mohamed Aziz, collaborated with the World Health Organization to test the safety and efficacy of ivermectin against onchocerciasis in humans.[8] They found it to be highly safe and effective,[80] triggering Merck to register ivermectin for human use as "Mectizan" in France in 1987.[8]

Here is a breakdown

So it was first of all discovered by chance, so it really had no “intention” but once they did, by chance, found it to be a great anti parasitic, they formulated it for livestock. It went well, so LATER ON they thought about its use for humans.
After the WHO said it was, and I quote “SAFE AND EFFECTIVE” , they released it in France under a name that was not even ivermectin

Fuck that’s delicious

wait-what were we talking about again?

I was called an idiot for saying that ivermectin came out as a horse medication, so I proved that it actually was without a shadow of a doubt, so now denialist is taking offense to my usage if “intended” instead of just accepting he was wrong

So for fun I looked up its actual “intention” and came across the WHO saying it was “safe and effective” so now I’m enjoying the irony of that.

Anyways I gotta go hand out Girl Scout candy. Laterrr

Yeah, I don’t like equivocation.

The only possible reason for finding what I said as equivocal is that it doesn’t fit your agenda. Everything I have said has agreed with it being a perfectly viable medication for covid, yet you can’t accept that it all started as horse meds

I didn't argue that it's first application wasn't as a horse med. I argued that the discovers' intention was not to create a horse med, as far as I know anyways. If you can show me that's the case, as I said I will move on.

I took some ivermectin and now I stand a full 15 hands tall, my teeth look great and I have a nice shiny coat. Where's my oats Wilbur,...

So you called me an idiot for saying that a medication originally released solely for livestock was intended for livestock? You aren’t fooling anyone dude

Maybe idiot was a bit harsh. But it was an inaccurate statement that erred in alignment with ridicule of the drug. If you think still you're right, show me, and I'll move on.
