Yeah I just don’t get it. I heard some creators bitching about not swearing for the first minute or they get demonitized. YouTube is out of hand.

Yea I think it’s the first minute and no profanity in the thumbnail or something like that.

On the other side of the token, YouTube kids does a great job of filtering and is awesome for parents. I can give the little one a phone for 5 minutes while I go out and smoke a cig before I lose my shit, and not worry about what weird shit they might be seeing lol

Guess you never heard about Elsagate ?

YT is not allowing violence either.... the "violence" has to be sanctioned.... like slap fights or MMA. They wont allow any violence perpetrated by police, justified or not.

Can’t say I’ve come across it
There’s Wikipedia entry if you care to look it up, although I can tell you from my own experience it was worse than they report. It was truly creepy and it demonstrated that malicious actors were targeting kids — apparently for exploitation or psychological sabotage — on an American big tech platform. YT knew about it too and didn’t do shit until it blew up. Makes you wonder about the folks that run it.

That was during the Pizzagate times as I recall, when top polticos and power brokers were definitely not exchanging code-worded emails about kids and child ritualistic abuse as reported by wilileaks.

It's Advertisers guys. They want their adds played over safe content. YT is at the mercy of the people who pay the bills.

The only way to have uncensored content is to have a subscription service. No other way.

I really don't think that's true. First, it's always been somewhat censored. But more importantly, other platforms would do just fine if not for the regulations and pressure designed to funnel content to a few monopoly platforms which are more easily controllable by the state. Ya know, so "hate speech" and "misinformation" aren't a problem (For the establishment).

It is 100% true.

YouTube revenue is massively ad revenue. Most companies buying the ads want clean/friendly content displayed with their ads.
I have professional knowledge of advertising online, I know this to be a fact.

In this day in age it's the difference between going bankrupt ( Where X/Twitter might be heading) or cleaning things up to be as ad friendly as possible.

YouTube (Google) is not going to say GFY to advertisers, like Musk did. Which is his prerogative, as detrimental as it was ?‍♂️

I liked YouTube before it became monetized.
Thankfully, Rig-Talk doesn't censor our sh*t.

Wait. What the f*ck?

Right , if it was not monetized pretty much anything goes as long as it's not breaking laws.

But the advertisers dictate the content now, they are the boss. Much like going to work for someone, you can bet your ass they have conduct rules to follow, and you're not going to say GFY to your boss, unless you want to be fired.
