It really doesn’t. If he cared at all to learn about this, he would have by now. I don’t owe him his education. He doesn’t understand research. He doesn’t understand peer review, he doesn’t understand what objective truths, and without those things it’s fooling to “debate” because he puts the same weight to a cellphone video as he does something observed and confirmed thousands of times

We’ve gone through it multiple times already. He has had more than enough chances to read about things if he cared. Shame on me for playing in to it but let’s not pretend he’s doing anything but trying to take a piss out of someone

I’m slinging concrete today so I’m in my happy place. It’s 50 degrees warmer than this time last year.

Don't tell me you gotta work on Christmas eve? Or are you just laying down some stuff at your place? Last year I gigged until 3 am the morning of the 24th and came home to a Christmas weekend of no power or water, This year it's really nice out today I was outside with a t-shirt.

I’ve already been to work and back today. The one guy that can cover for me has like 6 kids and is a strict Roman Catholic, so I told him I’ll take Christmas if he covers new years for me

The concrete is in my basement where I dug out an old oil line. I want to put some carpet down later over top. It’s nice enough outside to patch my driveway too

Sounds like a fair arrangement with your co worker. Was the oil line for a furnace? Fuel oil is sky high the past 25 years. Another reason I just bought a wood stove.

Yea my indirect coil shit the bed about this time last year so I put in a new boiler and oil line. I used it as an opportunity to rearrange a bit and move the laundry downstairs to free up another room for the girls upstairs. Oil is still pretty popular here. Most areas don’t have natural gas available

The other point that you keep missing is that I’m asking what convinced you personally. What books, articles, studies or other factors influenced your thinking. What is the most compelling evidential and logical argument which leads you to this belief? There is really no wrong answer either as this is subjective, so don’t be shy.

Well I have a bachelors in plant and soil science, so I’ve literally tested our earth for some of these things. Of course my testing was for academia and confirmation, and not discovery, however I believe that we can obtain knowledge of the past through scientific studies.

On top of that, as I mentioned before, you don’t understand the scientific method nor objective truths. If you can’t handle those things I might as well be talking to a toddler about Santa Claus.

Organizations the world over have come up with similar results. There is no evidence against any of it.

Some day when you grow up enough to stop believing in Santa Claus, come back and talk to me. Your buddy VB stood up for you and you come back with this basic shit? It’s gonna be a quiet dinner tonight….

I don't care about your silly credentials. Being bred in academia is almost an admission that you don't know how to think. I am rather interested in your thinking (If you do think) and what evidence and reasoning you employ to reach your conclusions. I don't know why you keep saying I don't understand the scientific method, because I do, and I don't have a problem with it. I probably don't venerate it like you do, as it has it's limitations. And I don't actually think you venerate the scientific method, but rather scientism and scientists. If you actually cared about the scientific method you would be more humble about all these ideas you tout; you would have references to studies and be able to outline your thinking, and you would be aware of and able to articulate the critiques and shortcomings of the data in question.
