So my PC shit the bed a bit ago, so I haven’t really done anything production wise in a bit. Finally got a new Mac Studio and it RULES. I’ve been playing my IIc+ a bit this week along with the monomyth, and wanted to dive into some mixing stuff… see what this new machine could handle. Anyway, the black album is one of the best mixes of all time EASILY in my opinion. I wanted to do a spin on it, but incorporate some of my own modern tendencies and see what I could get. This is not a 1 for 1 attempt. I know some parts are probably incorrect playing wise because well, I haven’t learned this song for 20 years and basically just plugged in and went for it. All of the mixing, reamping, etc is done by me here. Cheers.

Dare I say pretty spot on
Thanks brother!

I should mention I did program the drums and mix in superior drummer. Which I know everyone hates… but I didn’t want to use someone else’s tracks that are already premixed, and I don’t know drummers that can record at a moments notice and send me raw tracks lol.

I wish I could mix in superior drummer, but it would help if I could play the damn guitar first

Good job! and good example why more people should use T75's!
Thanks dude! Means a lot coming from you, your stuff is dialed in. I definitely was a hater of the T75 for a bit, but dialed in right sounds really killer.

I saw it as more of a good example why more people should try a iic+ lol, but T75's can be good too. I've yet to hear any speaker not be at least good with iic+'s

I will say I feel like no matter the speaker being used a IIc+ still sounds like a IIc+.
Agreed. It seems to be one the least picky amps I've had when it comes to speakers, pickups, tubes, etc. Still sounds like a iic+ as it does here that just happens to be going through T75's

I think a lot of it has to do where the eq sits In the amp. But that’s just my thoughts.

Sounds great! The cab I use the most atm is my 80’s JCM800 with G12T-75’s. It really sounds good and well balanced

I always use a rule of thumb when I mix because I know myself lol. Guitar down 3 db, and bass down about 2 db from where I think. Then it seems to balance well lol.

i use reference tracks pretty constantly before and during a mix because i get carried away too, for me its usually the snare i go overboard with. i have my earbuds here which i tuned my sub level around to pretty much match which helped me a lot with low end problems, i have another bluetooth speaker here then the car test is last

Same here with the reference tracks!

It seems like when I follow that rule myself to lower the bass and the guitars I get closer on the car test lol where it just works. If I don’t deduct that bass before I go out to the car I know my low end going to be way out of control and rattle my entire car.
