My nephew called me last night over a psycho they had to deal with. He’s a deputy btw. They got a 911 call on this guy and when they showed up he is standing there holding a knife to his own throat. He runs and tries to break into other people’s houses. They tazed him multiple times with no effect. Finally they shoot him with bean bag rounds (which are brutal) about three total. No effect. He throws himself through a window in this elderly couple’s house and winds up sitting in a chair upstairs with some sewing shears and proceeds to open his throat up. My nephew couldn’t do anything but watch till more people got there. He pulled about everything out…. Said you could see his spine. Blood loss caused dude to collapse and he cuffed him up. Of course the dude lived. Said he won’t be able to speak but he’s alive. Moral of the story- you never know who or what you’re dealing with. That’s why I carry a 10mm auto. If it will kill a polar bear-I think it will kill a meth fueled fetty zombie….

So will a .380 in the brain. All about shot placement brother

We have constitutional carry here in Arkansas, but I still keep my CCW permit up to date for the reciprocity. Plus, in Arkansas, if you have the CCW you're not subject to a background check when buying a gun. You still have to fill out the 4473, but they don't call it in.

19 rounds of 200 grain hp’s running at 1400 fps really tickles me in my nethers….
Excuse me-180 grain…
I haven’t waded into the 10mm. Not sure I’d have room for another caliber in my ammo room.

I used to always carry a 1911. Then I got an XD Mod 2 4” double stack. 13 rounds of 230 gr. These days I’m just as likely to have a VP9 or a P30L.

Yesterday they had the whole roadway shut down. About 30 sheriff cars, SWAT, robots, tear gas, HOMELAND SECURITY trying to bring in some paroleee. Not sure what was going on but he must've been one bad MF'er. It's nice to have a decent sporting rifle for those times.

Oh, are we talking about what’s in the truck then? I thought we were talking about what’s on our person. 🤣🤣🤣

Join the 10mm master race brother. I can confidently shoot my 1911 with a 5” barrel 50 yards and be very accurate. It has fiber optic target sites. Love everything about it but trying to carry it concealed.

I was at the range last Saturday doing drills with a couple buddies and was getting consistent hits on IDPA steel silouhettes at 60 and 75 yards. With a VP9SK and a Masada Slim.

Dude, you need a dot. I prefer Holosun 507GRs.

I used to carry an AK in the truck cause I could park it right outside the door of my job. Haven't day gigged a normal job since 2017 so I was just talking about the first thing I reach for around the ranch here.

I’ll be honest…I’m a reactionary point shooter. It’s how I have trained with a pistol for over 22 years. I don’t use sites until I’m at 15 yards or more…. I draw and shoot without aiming. It’s pointless to aim up close.
I do a lot of point shooting myself. I’m not a target shooter. I’m a range/ course junkie that trains for reality. Combat accuracy is all I worry about. I usually train with a retired marine corps/ retired police captain instructor and several active duty and ex military and LEO guys. When the gun comes up though like it or not it’s already lined up. Repetition is key. When the shit hits the fan you aren’t going to rise to the occasion, you’re gonna fall to your training.
And it’s always fun to end the day with the Mozambique drill and some long range shots with a short barreled pistol just to keep those skills up.

I’m not saying nothing, but hypothetically there might be a 10.5” 5.56 and a semi auto shotgun in the truck. 🤣

So how about some defensive protection? Uncle Sam bought me Spartan Armor with that covid money. I figured there was no better way to go than to continue arming myself to the teeth since it was on his/my/our dime. Heh heh, bastards.

looks like we're all enjoying the decline.

:D

usually carry 9mm; sometimes just a 380; depends where I'm going. the 10mm is tough to conceal. So is the S&W 500 Mag:

I have 5.56 NATO as well, but I prefer long range shooting, and want to get a more modern round for that, liking 300 PRC, been waiting for the 277 Fury but gave up on that. Long range now is 7.62 NATO or 50 BMG.

Bought too much music gear in the last year, so the Barrett MRAD in 300 PRC will be awhile.
