lol Zimbabwe is (or more correctly was) Rhodesia - but I'm sure you know that.

Freedom has more to it than weapons. How about freedom not to have to install trip wires and booby traps because it’s so shithouse out there that you are scared someone is going to kill you because I can’t even imagine having to live like that
Well, it can be simpler than that, Ive had to brandish a weapon twice in really bad areas during my daily work to not get robbed. Luckily I didn't have to shoot either of them but only because they chose to run and live rather than get shot in the face. Twice in 40 years working on the road is not too bad.
Really its all relevant to your personal experience, lots of people feel just like you do until they get shot, stabbed or the shit beat out of them for no reason whatsoever, then they make up their minds to never be a victim again and buy a means of instantly forcing shitheads to see the folly of their poor life choices. Im glad its never happened to you and I hope it never does. Those of us who own guns don't mind at all that some choose not to, but they nor anyone else gets to decide for the rest of us. We might even save their life in the right situation.
At least we have the choice

Nice!
I got my titanium Thunder Chicken 308 suppressor about a month ago! Its badass!
Works great on 556 too. I may have sent you a pic of it (I think).
Running subsonic there is no need at all for hearing protection, and it didn't change my point of impact at all.
Well, at 100 yds anyway, I haven't stretched it way out there yet. I will this weekend though.
You do have to manually cycle the AR10 with it running subsonic though

Would you believe the stuff's illegal in Australia?
Yeah.. Sadly, I do....
In a pinch you can use wasp spray, its pretty f'in nasty in your eyes and you can get it anywhere and its legal everywhere, got a good range out of the can, but its not as effective, especially if your moron is on chemicals, it may just piss him off to the point you'll have to beat him to death with whatever is handy...
You know... Since you are unarmed and all..

that doesnt work to good with bullets. Only the engine block. Make sure they have no fluids in them.
Absolutely true
Most pistol rounds (aside from frag rounds) from 9mm up and almost all rifle rounds will zip right through a vehicle unless you are behind the engine block or in the sweet spot at a steel or thick aluminum wheel/axle.

Current reported times for suppressor stamps is as little as a few weeks with the new e-file. Apparently it’s the new norm. Speculation is the AFT knows suppressors aren’t going to be on the NFA list much longer and are trying to get as many people as they can to pony up the 200 bucks before it’s too late.

When I'm cruising in my hot rods I always have two things with me: wasp spray and a fire extinguisher. And the wasp spray ain't for no wasps!

Cane corso? My in-laws have 2
YES! Big ol girl. Rescue from a questionable breeder. Poor gal was force bred every heat cycle. Rescued full of breeding scars and major abdominal hernia. We’ve owned 15 dogs over our 30 years of marriage - Onyx is by far the sweetest, most affectionate and most ‘bonded’ to us. I’d get another Cane in a heartbeat!

That sucks for her, but cool she ended up with you guys.
Yeah - my in-laws dogs are super loyal, big mushes with family, but damn they are great watch dogs & deterrents with strangers!

Mine was 5 months done on a kiosk through silencer central, but I understand it is faster now. I wish they would go ahead and get that done, there are 2 more on my list. I need one for 9mm, but my Sig 226 has special left handed threads while the majority of them are right handed. I may change out the barrel to reverse that, Im doing a 9mm AR build to run in the pistol bays on steel, its got right handed threads. A buddy of mine just got one in 3 weeks! ;)

She's beautiful!

Home security goes through my mind a lot these days. I live on a lonely stretch of road in the country but crime is moving further from the cities and will eventually be here.
I play the chain of events in my head: hear a break-In downstairs and my Glock with laser sight is in a case beside the bed. I can open the case quietly but loading a clip and chambering a round, no way. The stairs are immediately outside my door and I can look at the downstairs door while swinging the Glock around to take aim. If the door is open and perp isn’t armed, the red dot on his chest should do the trick. If he is armed, it’s a matter of squeezing off shots before he does and be ready for a life changing event.
This scenario plays through my mind a lot as I get older.

Damn, I was sweating after that :D

Two things come to mind. 1st, load your Glock right now, not after you hear a noise in the house. And get a shotgun or an AR pistol. Load them too.

Also, the whole house clearing bullshit is just that. I mean those drills are fun for sure and I go to shoot houses any time I get the chance. In the real world though unless you’re a cop and you’re tasked with clearing a house, keep your ass put. Or if you have kids, go get them and all of you keep your asses put, in a defendable position with cover or at least concealment. A place with only one way in. And be quiet. Dial 911 and have your weapon trained on that door. Stumbling through your house in the middle of the night looking for whatever made that noise is just a good way to get everyone killed. Especially if you don’t really know what you’re doing.
