Nah man. As JimAnsell already said, I'm not a fan of his business practices, but in all my decades of tone searching for tight, saturated, yet open and dynamic sounding amps, I'd like to see someone pointing out another amp that does the Larry thing well. For me it's not about rarity at all. I'm looking for certain tones and somewhere on the Holy Trinity point where modded Marshalls, Engls and Mesa Marks converge, there's my tone. I just can't stomach the $$$ and time to get a Larry.I’m sure his amps sound good. But there’s so much shit out there idk why people put up with him. Literally just seems like the rarity factor, as with many other amps people hype up to the nth degree. Having played some of these amps people hype up on the forums vs other stuff, sure they mostly all sound good. But ten times better than whatever else you could directly compare it to? Not a fuckin chance.
Mines almost done
Here’s the update

lol let me hear one at lessons"Nevermind"..... Fuck it. I'm letting you guys know I just bought all three of these amps. Happy New Year.
A boosted Engl Savage is a thing of beauty though?Nah man. I can get reasonably close with boosting my Savage 60, but then it still lacks the openness and bounce. For now it'll have to do. ?
This makes it seem as if Larry is fording new frontier uncaring of his image to the average Rig-talker...this couldnt be further from the truth. So it`s two driver tubes and delibarete OT missmatch. Sounds intersting and like a push for amp design, at least to me. It`s work in a field where most people think, everything was already done before or simply is a derivate of the existing stuff. But this is out of the box and you have to give him credit for that.
And for all the RTers who are salty about Larry. Reality is, your are nothing like the targeting group for his amps. In fact, beside some artist or producers he probably has not defined a targeting group and is not willing to deal with the average joe (he should actually pay those deposits back!). And he has no intent to start a real amp buisness.
I feel sorry for the people who made a deposit and hope, they will either get their amps or their money back and can move on.
He won’t get 180W with a deliberate impedance mismatch. If anything it will have accelerated tube wear. His own post is self contradictory. Two driver tubes is interesting and innovative but there’s no telling what he’s doing with them.So it`s two driver tubes and delibarete OT missmatch. I agree. If nothing else, he should get things right on the legal level, which means either deliver the amps or pay back the deposists.I want people who have paid money for their amps to get what they’re owed. Steve passed away before he even got his amp which is really sad. Wait times should not be that long.
I agree, Makes complete sense to me.I have no skin in the game. But given the issues with wait times. I'd try to get a work order that had bonus/penalty clauses to help keep deliverables on time.
And not to be morbid but I don't think the amp builder is a spring chicken and think they are a one person show for building. If it is going to be 5 years. Adding a clause that if the maker is incapacitated or deceased I could get a full refund.
But I've never had to buy anything and wait more than 6 months so what do I know.
The fact he feels the need to taunt 180W (falsely) tells me the coliseum keeps him up at night ??Bottom line is that his customers are going into it fully aware of the deposit, wait time, and his age.
There’s no victims here and nobody’s putting guns to their heads. If the wait was only a year I’d have bought one.
The only thing I’d pay for in advance and wait five years for is a life saving organ.
Hold on man…That is only true for people reading L*rry RT threads in the past couple years or so, and all these RT member orders predate that. Remember, I busted him shaving 10 years off his claimed age and the wait times are at least double of what is stated at time of order. Fake and pre calculated wait times but nonetheless, at least doubled. So yeah, there is victimhood involved, absolutely. Not everyone interested in these amps reads RT either, and there’s already some enquiring about ordering this new amp on his FB. Most are tire kickers I’m sure but some could get duped.Bottom line is that his customers are going into it fully aware of the deposit, wait time, and his age.

exactly - why anyone gets excited about a new Larry amp being released with hopes of maybe getting one within 4-7 years with his communication skills and the numerous horror stories is absurd.Knowing that people have ordered and never received their stuff… it boggles the mind that people are still willing to part with this kind of dough on a handshake deal…
I agree with your position but I would say @DanTravis62 and @Techdeth are not average Joe's. Dan has remained a strong proponent for Larry and TechDeth is a Moderator and also well respected around here. If TechDeth doesn't get his amp - it is proof to me that Helmut/Larry/ @novosibir doesn't care and is willing to screw anyone over. Don't forget, he is supposedly now also selling his amps in Germany using a retail outlet I believeReality is, your are nothing like the targeting group for his amps. In fact, beside some artist or producers he probably has not defined a targeting group and is not willing to deal with the average joe (he should actually pay those deposits back!). Proves he DOES care about what Rig-Talk says. I assumed he has been laying low to try to improve his image. We'll see wont' we.I listened. Then a few years back, i was like fuck it. I contacted him and told him i was ready to do it. He didnt go over prices, or ideas. He asked me one question, "Why did you like that post by @thegame ?"
This is when i abandoned the project for good. Between the wait times, and the way he treats customers, I couldn't also deal with a grown man with the emotional maturity of a 13 year old girl. We already have a president like that.
Thing is I don't think he actually owns a business. When I asked him about some sort of business establishment similar to an LLC here in the States he fumbled.I have no skin in the game. But given the issues with wait times. I'd try to get a work order that had bonus/penalty clauses to help keep deliverables on time.
