That's bizarre. Some sort of weird hippie build with with alligator ponds thrown in.

Concrete dome will survive the hard hitting storms down there. He wants to raise fish. I actually found a few places with in ground fish ponds already in place but that one was more affordable plus you could actually forgo insurance with the concrete dome.

As you get older you can start to look like your house.

Probably some weird cult compound mate run by Charles Manson jr and his pet alligator Franky.
If you lived in FL before you would understand that is a very practical place. It's not like the outback, it's wet and soggy down there a lot. Most of south FL is a swamp.

5 acres.
Ponds.

What's not to like? Oh yeah... house looks strange but OTOH weather-proof?

Me likey!

Thanks for thinking about me Brother Von.

So @VonBonfire is the house actually a dome or is it flat? I think that photo might have been taken with a fish eye lens. What do you reckon @Monkey Man and @japetus

My pleasure. I like to look at homes and as soon as I saw that and a couple others with fish ponds I thought of you and your dream.

that's badass. Imagine all the breeds, dang.

I have a 260g aquarium that is empty right now.

I need to do something with it, but even the people from the company that moved it into my house got injured, it was so heavy. :(I think it's permanently in the house at this point.

I love a nice aquarium but have moved too many times to keep one.
I hear ya man. I've had tanks since I was a kid. A good friend worked in a fish store, so I got tons of fish for free. I had like 6 aquriums at one point. Just junky 20's and 55's. Had to give and sell them all moving to the midwest. Started raising and selling african cichlids after getting the ich. The local pet store took them. Then had to sell and give everything away again. Swore I wouldn't mess with them again.

This 260 is the first tank I've ever owned over 55, and I didn't really put into perspective what I needed to make it work. It was a crazy good deal in my area, so I said heck yeah. It's a pretty sick setup with tank and nice hood. However, it's a special overflow design with 3 tubes, to keep stuff silent, and it needs a crazy plumbing network to really make it work, along with a good pump/sump 55g. Now it sits empty, which is obviously not good for a tank. I need to do something with it, but it's paralysis by analysis and resources.

I can't think of anything you can buy at the store save for maybe a set of speakers that will bring a level of peace and relaxation to the interior of a home more than a nice tank. We just had small tanks when we were young but we lived on a lake and stocked it with bluegill, sunfish, bullheads, crayfish, and various minnows until they outgrew the tank and we released them. We had a big seine net we could haul up hundreds of minnows and other small fish per pass. Good times.

Say Brother Von, among those minnows did you ever keep Rainbow Shiners?

Beautiful fish, especially for natives:

Bet you didn't see what you did there brother.
For those who don't get it:
Ich is one of the most-common fish diseases.
