Def had some shiners but I don't think I ever had any of those rainbows. I had some chubs and I had some sticklebacks but mostly I was keeping panfish; blue gill and sun fish. I came across a school/spawn of about 100 small 2-3 inch bullheads and scooped a couple up and kept those for a while. They are kinda like a catfish. I would dig up earth worms, night crawlers, from behind the shed, and feed the fish. The bullheads would gorge on them, have an inch or two of the worm hanging out their mouth and they would lazily swim in the corner like a fat man in a pool after dinner, trying to digest them, lol. The crayfish would make their home in one of the corners, excavate a bunch of the gravel, and wave their open claws at anything that came too close.Say Brother Von, among those minnows did you ever keep Rainbow Shiners?

For those who don't get it:
Ich is one of the most-common fish diseases.
If I decide to stay somewhere permanently maybe I'll get a 100-150 gallon tank someday. I'd rather just live on a swamp again and have some ponds and raise some eating size fish but I don't need a great big feed bill either.
