The Dual Recto actually sounded more open with more high end detail that was pleasing to the ear....I didn't expect that.

In this clip the Cameron sounded choked with little mid to high end response and I know Cameron's usually are bright and bitey.......I noticed your mids and treble were less than 5( noon) maybe to darken the amp up but it seems to take away what Cameron's are known for.

There were some things I Iiked the Cameron doing but overall the Dual Recto sounded better here.

The Recto smoked it. The Cameron sounded muffled and soft in comparison. I wonder if maybe though something is off with the amp. Like maybe it needs to see a tech or needs new tubes or something like that as IME having had 6 different Cameron’s they shouldn’t sound that way vs that Recto. They should IME be brighter and more lively

I remember also you’re Rev 2 Uber smoked a Cameron mod in the same type of way in a clip, but can’t remember if that was the same Cameron mod or not

Both amps sound great, the Cameron would be pretty close if you dialed up the presence a little bit. I'm curious how you're recording these. The sound keeps clipping every few seconds.

Bro; just get the mighty, majestic and crushing backstage plus and call it a day.

Cameron is a 70s JMP Superlead with the Low Gain/High Gain Jose. It is in high gain mode here and not boosted. This amp actually has an addition gain/aggression switch that is not engaged for this video.

The Rev F Rectifier is loaded with EL34s and is on the red channel modern. It is being boosted by a BB Preamp

OP:

I need something to do today while we’re snowed in. Pick two amps and I’ll make a quick A/B?

Yeap, that Rev F sounds very familiar from running my Tremoverb with EL34's for years. I never get the claims of mud that can't be dialed out with Dual Recs. That sounds evil and crunchy as hell.

The Cameron lacks bite and dimension in contrast. It flattens out way more. My Tverb didn't begin to flatten out until up around 75% of the master volume, at which point it was crazy loud.
