I see this said a lot but nobody seems to mention the obvious fact that the anticipated 15% tax rate for business must surely be playing a role. IMHO.

Yeah this, it's also like a toll on getting in the US market. You want a part of the biggest market in the world and without tariffs....... make and manufacture goods in the States and invest in the US and bring jobs here.



Obviously the down sides are there but the upside is too and TSMC and others bringing manufacturing to America again is a great example of how the tariffs are intended to work in that regard and a good thing from that perspective.


I'm surprised the Speaker of the House let the signs fly too and a lot of other stuff but the Dems set the bar pretty low all things aside :dunno:
 
Plus, and this is a HUGE bonus for all of us AFAIC, shifting a large part of its operation to the States increases supply security for all of us, given what could happen in Taiwan.
 
I think what the past 5 years have shown is that Americans and people around the world are resilient, they are strong, they work hard, they don't give up hope, they fight for what they believe in no matter what side of the aisle they are from and they will always remain optimistic and look forward to the future.


And I really think Trump was being honest when he said hey it's not going to be nice for a bit and Americans fully understand what tariffs may mean financially and the toll they may take and most likely will take but they also see the intention behind it to bring manufacturing, good paying jobs and decency back by promoting Made in USA/America.


As said before I mean I like my imported gear and that is what I own most of but I also have MIA stuff from Dunlop wahs to my MIA Fender Princeto Reverb Reissue. ImO the best amp I've had and own is the Princeton Reverb Reissue. I take pride in that it sounds great, it's quality, I am more than happy with it and it was made here in the States supporting jobs and manufacturing here in the States. I'm not just paying for it because its MIA, it's actually phenomenal but I take special pride in it being made in the States and it really is a quality piece of kit IMO.



IMO there is nothing wrong with promoting and pushing for more and more to be made in America and to bring manufacturing and jobs back to the States and if tariffs are a step in that direction I'm all for it :dunno:

Also this x1,000,000........ not just for Taiwan but yeah much of the West, Europeans and America and the Common Wealth of Nations in general from India to Australia and everyone in between.

Yeah that's why TSMC did it too I figure....... investing 100 billion here in the US guarantees some sort of financial Security and National security as well given how important their chips are to American innovation and advancement and their economy and national security as well as ours.


It pretty much separates their country from some risk in case China invades to still have some viable assets and means of income and way to maintain that technology. It protects their assets, business and most important commodity in chips in Fortress America separated by an entire Ocean and on another continent and part of the world.


This pretty much creates some blanket of security from a financial and national security perspective as well for Taiwan and countries like it that may not otherwise have it aside from gaining access into the American market and the largest market in the world tariff free.
