Anyone know if it’s polyphonic? Does it track well enough to detune my guitar three half steps for a few songs so I can leave an extra guitar at home?
Just curious how it works to take a B standard guitar down to G# standard. If it tracks well with chords, and if there's any noticeable latency. Thanks man!Got any riffs/songs in mind? I can give it a try and post a reply![]()
Thanks a lot for doing that! I think it sounds really good to my ear, no noticeable tone loss. And if there's no latency then that's perfect. I wasn't sure if it was polyphonic or not, couldn't find any info on it.Here's a soundcloud link to a sample!
I recorded this direct into my interface using the VHX's cab emulation. The guitar is a Meteora, which is the closest I have to what you're after - I keep it at either C standard or drop A#, so it's a little higher than your B standard, but closeish. I grabbed some drum samples and did some chuggawuggas. The first section is without the pitch shifter, and the second is with the pitch shifter tuned down three semitones. It's polyphonic, and works pretty well. No noticeable latency. It's not absolutely perfect, but depending on what you're after it could be fine. I used drums in a mix to place it in context so you can hear what it might sound like with other stuff going on, and there's a bit at the end without drums so you can hear that as well. The pitch shifter is set on the 'capo' setting mixed at 100%.
How do you like the internal IRs?Here's a soundcloud link to a sample!

So far I like the internal ones more than any IRs I've loaded. I mentioned in another thread that I've been meaning to pick up a few from bighairyprofiles. The ones he did that got included as factory settings on the Soldano Astro 20 sound great. The ones I've used so far all come from Bogren Digital's 'Chainsaws and Rainbows' pack, buuuuuut I also haven't tried those on any other amp so I need to do some swapping around to see what I like. How do you like the internal IRs?
The defaults are great. I’ve found the Celestion IRs sound good, too. Alnico Cream and Redbacks, specifically, but they lack the ease of use of the defaults since instead of selecting speaker position and mic for one you have to go between IRs of whichever mic and position. It becomes a thing and when the ones that are already on there sound so good it’s pointless to go through the uploading process. I’d rather leave that mess for when I’m using a DAW.So far I like the internal ones more than any IRs I've loaded. But all that said, I do really like the internal IRs and power amp emulation.
