He was 76, it looks like he passed away today. Never been a greater heavy weight fighter. NEVER.

I've been on a boxing kick lately but George has always been my #1 favorite. RIP to the man. The consummate wrecking machine. I always loved his boxing commentary after his retirement. What a guy!

Watch him hit the heavy bag. No one hit like George: Guy can barely hold onto the thing:

From Fifth Ward to greatness inside the ring and out along with inspiring millions. Rest In Peace, Mr Foreman.
It was incredible watching him become Champ for the second time at 44 years of age. What's amazing to me is he wasn't just a slugger, he was a tactician with real boxing skills unlike a lot of the heavy hitters. An gold medal olympian to boot. I don't think anyone could really beat him in his prime. He's the true greatest heavyweight.

I was just talking with my wife earlier about his fights with Tommy Morrison and Michael Moorer and how great watching those fights was as back then, it was unheard of for anyone at his age to be gunning for the title as he was but yet he did just that when he KO'd Moorer.

He took a lot of shit for that comeback. People thought he was a joke until he wrecked everyone he came against. Skills plus temperament from an older, more experienced George, plus I think he is probably the hardest hitter that ever entered the ring.

I think it's worth mentioning that he was Sonny Liston's sparring partner when Liston was champ. I never did think Cassius Clay actually beat Liston. That was all rigged. I think he beat Foreman by dragging him halfway around the world, using his lackeys to keep him awake all night, and being more prepared to fight in extreme heat. Foreman was beat before he entered the ring. Foreman utterly annihilated Ron Lyle, who gave Ali fits trying to beat. Pretty sure most of Ali's brain damage came from Foreman's fists that night....
