IMO, and I realize I'm in the minority, the Fryette PS wasn't for me.

I preferred a ppimv on 4 holers, retained the feel, initial attack better.
It didn't work at all with a Mesa Dual Rec in modern mode.
The only thing it offered on amps with a master volume was an effects loop, sound was basically the same.
I much prefer a Suhr RL.
Did you have an actual cabinet hooked up?

Seems like a pain, lol.

I generally use my Fractal LB-2 as the loadbox, and then run that into stereo rack effects or pedals, and then back through a solid state poweramp into the cabs. The reamping setup gives me the loadbox, and ability to run stereo effects. I am not a big effects person, but panning delays and stereo Reverb can really bring a big sound at low volumes.

A little. Just more shit to fool with daily. Nice thing is and it hasn’t happened; if an amp goes down I have immediate and lots of options.

Sorry that happened to your Blanksenship plexi!!!! I know that's your favorite amp! I had always heard that the 32 ohms impedance was a bridge too far for Marshall amps back when the HO was popular and there were quite a few stories of amp issues.

I run my amps set to 8 ohms into 16 ohm loads, purely resistive or reactive loads or into my attenuators set to 16 ohms into a 16 ohm cabinet all the time with no issues for alot of years now....Knock on WOOD!:eek:

You also have to remember that running the amp full out into a load will stress things like the output transformer regardless but I think the Fryette is a good move, plus it has a loop. I was always told that setting a Marshall Output transformer on 8ohms in to a 16 ohm load helps ease the stress on them when running them at high volumes.

I like the PS100 because it has to channels where you can set the volume different one for rhythm and one for solos and it's footswitchable, that's a really nice feature IMHO!:2thumbsup:

I think the famous Jose load box was 20 ohms according to most sources.

thanks man!! it’s all good. There’s no secret mojo like components or transformers from the 60’s thank goodness!! Roy will get it where it needs to be and I think the Power Station will be a welcome addition :)
