Check this out. George Gruhn and Eric Ernest...probably the two biggest experts on these. I love how George won't let it go; "Why the fuck didnt Gibson use this design in a single neck?". I embellished George's quote there.

Yeah George probably knows more about vintage Gibsons than anyone on earth. We were at the new shop for the first time a few years ago. They had a lot of cool specimens in there but nothing that I just had to have.
That vid was awesome, I knew those things were special but didn’t really know much about them. I love hearing the stories from the old timers, they have forgotten more than I’ll ever know about that stuff.

I can’t speak more highly of the Chinese Gretch’s. Had a 5622 for a minute and it was a great player. It took away any feeling I had that you need to get the real deal, Japanese ones for 4 times the money. The stock pickups sound good for higher gain but you definitely want to swap to OG Filtertrons for the more traditional sound.
