Got the parts. The tuners on a Floyd interfere with my picking so I’m using the Gotoh GE1996T. Recessed. But the Gotoh locking nuts aren’t available with a 10” radius so I’m using the Floyd Rose R9 nut with truss rod groove.

The neck is a Warmoth with their 10”-14” compound radius. Which will require work to fit the nut. This will be the hardest part and I may not do it, might have a pro do that. Routing that shelf perfectly isn’t easy. Routing the body is easy since you just set the router on top of the guitar. For the nut you have to build the surface for the router and it has to be perfectly perpendicular/level. And then the truss rod is there too.

Starts here to route for the humbuckers. 3 holes line up, yay.:cautious:

Thats going to be cool!
Ive been patiently waiting for a good, used strat body to come by.

I thought of doing this, but, realized it made much more sense to just buy a guitar with a floyd , or at least the body and neck made for a floyd.....looking back on how easy it is to completely fuck something up with a router.

Yep, totally can see that.

When people ask about building partscasters I always say build it only if you want to build it. Don’t build it to have it…go buy it if you just want to own it.

That said, I build and mod/rebuild stuff because I like doing this kind of stuff. I would probably just buy a Luxxtone if it were about having it.

But that nut shelf. Not gonna lie…I’m a little scared of that.

I hope it works out great for you.
