I absolutely love it. When I played the Yngwie guitar back in my GC days, I never really made it play sharp, at least that I could tell, but it did feel, not fragile, but like you had to use juuuust the right amount of care to keep a note in tune. This one, I have to press hard as hell to get an upper register note to go sharp, and fairly hard to get a middle register note to go out. But, with the lower register cowboy chord area, I can see how lots of guys don't jive with scallops as if you're just a heavy handed rhythm player and play with lots of aggression and anger issues on stage, it can easily go sharp. How are you getting along with that scalloped neck? I've only ever had one guitar with it that was also a parts caster. Had owned it for a couple of years and the neck started to develop a twist, so I took it off to find the PO had drawn a penis on the heel and boobs in the neck pocket. You boys.

I just grabbed this cheap but awesome Yamaha AES420. I've never liked red guitars, and I always thought these AES guitars looked kinda ugly, but something about it just called out to me. So I went to meet the guy, and the guitar is absolutely dead mint, and stunning in person. In pictures, these things look really big, but it's only slightly bigger than a Les Paul. The build quality on this thing is unbelievable for such a cheap guitar. I have no idea where they were made (I'm assuming not Japan, maybe Korea) but the fretwork is flawless. This one has a new set of humbucker sized P90s, but originally came with uncovered HBs as shown in the second pic. Unfortunately these pics do not do it justice at all. I paid $360 Canadian for this thing. That's $260 USD! I swear, this thing is nicer, and plays just as nice as my USA made PRS S2.
