Congrats on pulling the trigger on the FM9.
Agree Fractals are really cool.
Ive had for so long (each rack model), I couldn’t imagine not having one in my home studio.

As a tube amp nut, I can honestly say I love my FM9T. I use it 90% of the time now. The online tutorials teach you very well. At a recent gig a couple of my fellow tube amp nuts were convinced I had an amp hidden underneath the stage. They couldn't believe how good the FM9T sounded...

What's the secret to getting it sounding like an amp in the room at home?

I recently sold my FM9 MkII Turbo; I use my computer plugins and my ISP Theta Michael Sweet gear more.

For the FM9, I used the cab EQ parameters to get it to sound better to my ears. The FRFR cabs matter more to Fractal IMO.

If you want amp in the room gotta go
power amp and guitar cab otherwise frfr is a mic ed up cab which as far as Im concerned is never gonna sound amp in the room

You can get closer to amp in the room if you turn off / don't use the mic in the cab block. You're gonna want to adjust the cab eq as I said above.

No secret, my philosophy is similar to that if I were recording in a studio.

I pick the cab I like, I use a 57 and Royer right on the cab, I use the low cut and high cut filters, I use amps like I would in a real life situation.

Here is what it sounds like at home captured with a cellphone.

What speakers do you use to get that nice tone? I can see they are QSC.
