Send a letter to folks who sell Metal HeatSinks as substitutes for glass vacuum tubes and go be annoying to them..... send a letter to Jet City and tell them the same thing about their ceramic "SS tubes" they made a while back.......Jeezus.

You're easily the most tan pants member on this forum by a very large margin Mr. 6V6. You're a living meme on this forum. Don't get me wrong you're a staple here on RT, but you need to start listening to people who know what they're talking about instead of arguing with everyone with your non existent "IMO and IME" and you might start actually learning things. Look at your first post in this thread. That is not a solid state device. In fact, solid state devices didn't exist when that was made. Your digital snoopy watch isn't an analog wind up watch just because it's a watch and nobody is arguing against calling the device in the OP a solid state tube. You don't simply take a glass vacuum tube and swap the glass for a heatsink and call it solid state. It's what's inside and how it operates that makes the difference, not what's outside. Just like your snoopy watch.

Right on so just because it isn't glass doesn't mean it's SS and it's just a metal vacuum tube......

In guitar amps we typically only see two types of tubes, rectifiers and voltage amplifiers. We’ve had SS rectifier ‘plugs’ for many years.

But vacuum tubes did other things too. I had a job where an old test device came in for refurb and it had a vacuum tube that was basically a relay. Another thing that is common in SS form these days.

The Retrovalves. How do you like them? I bought 5 of those as insurance against a future tube shortage. Haven't tried 'em yet.
 
Modern high gain amps I have no clue. My old crusty ass amps from the 60s, we’re using old ass glass mudafakas.
