I have the same Edwards @scottosan bought four or five months ago and man, for $600 it is a heckuva guitar. The rosewood board is one of the nicest boards I've gotten to put my hands on. Dark and very slick and fast playing. As @GreatRedDragon said the price is nice so going nuts on the pickups and guts is sensible. I used my e-lp as a pickup test bed since it's easy to get in there to wire it. I've had at least half a dozen pickups in there just experimenting. My Edwards also has very low smaller frets. Plays great though. So how do you find the burny quality overall? They are still one of the few deals out there for Japanese guitars. Most reviews I see are favorable and I love my Edwards cream colored Randy inspired LP
My only real beef with the Edwards stuff is the Gotoh bridges. Mine both turned into buzzing rattle traps. The one on my ES got so bad it sounded like I was plugged into an acoustic fuzzbox when I was doing double stops unplugged. I replaced it with a tone pros a week or two ago and have been gtg since then.
