btw @SpiderWars now you gotta tell me about some of the other blues acts you saw on the east coast of FL back in the day!! You got me pumped up now, lol.
This guy Bird Dog lived just up the road from me when I lived in Oviedo, FL. He was the local guitar/amp tech with a tiny music store. He was my amp tech and gateway to amp modding. When I moved away I gave him all sorts of stuff I didn't want to move like old boatanchor Peavey power amps that still worked and a Warmoth neck with Brazilian fretboard that just needed a light fret level.btw @SpiderWars now you gotta tell me about some of the other blues acts you saw on the east coast of FL back in the day!! This band was not a blues band but they were the best band of that Cocoa Beach area. Bill Marsh on guitar and a total badass. This was Anna Delgado's band and every player was great at their role. I timestamped it to a guitar solo. I've always wanted one of those custom Hamers he plays (and he always played that live), it was such a killer guitar. They played Cliffs of Dover every show and everybody always went crazy for Bill after. Sundays at Gatsbys was always a blast.
Cool! Some really nice licks in there. It looks like fullsail upgraded the stage and backdrop. I went there in 2015 and did a few tunes with my band at the time and it was like playing in a big empty room cause 1 foot off the stage was pitch blackness. It was a good time, they were really sweet to me there. They have bands come in for student projects. It was unpaid, but a really nice experience.
If there are any other artists you recall from back then I'm all ears bro, this is great. Here is a band from my neck of the woods that used to do the festivals which is why I appreciated the Groove Monsters vids, that powerhouse band and all. I think you'll like this one:
Same. Those were some Minneapolis regulars that had their own group plus worked as the backup band for Big John Dickerson. He was a fantastic singer, classic large black man with a huge voice. Not sure if any of those guys are active up there anymore much, I haven't been up there in over 20 years.Oh hell yeah that kicks ass. I like all the stuff from the neighborhoods that surround the old/tired-blues neighborhood. I just got to a point that I can't stand boring regurgitated old themes. If it sounds new I'm good.
1980-2005 was a great time to be a blues fan. Hair metal was ending as I got into guitar and grunge was on the rise. My Iron Maiden tab book just showed a bunch of power chords then I learned the 12 bar blues. I could record that on my tape deck and solo over my own rhythm. That was it for me.This was the crayon box that @VonBonfire had as a kid.

RnB and Blues-rock is also welcome although I'm mostly a blues and RnB enjoyer. I dig this one from Candi Staton, 1976For those of you that don't know jack about blues, like myself, you're getting a first class tour here by RT resident bluesman @VonBonfire . Thanks and keep 'em coming!
