I’ve been getting the monarch 9 mm (fmj 115gr) in 250 round boxes for a while from Academy Sports and when I stocked up today, it was $10 off so it was 50 bucks for 250 rounds. I thought that was pretty good.

Yep that’s a good price 👍
It is. I've never used Monarch and would be hesitant to buy a large amount of it. I like 124 too.

Cheaper Than Dirt has 124 gr. American Eagle for $230/case, which is a good price. I know, I know. I hate them bastards too but sometimes their deals can't be beat. A couple years ago I was looking for a Wilson Combat upper. CTD had it for $800. I looked around and kept looking for about 6 months and never could find it anywhere else cheaper than $1200. So I bought it from CTD. And it's bad ass. On par with my BCM.

Nice 👍
I’ve never had my hands on a WC AR platform, but I’ve never seen a product by them that wasn’t top notch.
A buddy has one of their 1911 9mm’s that is exceptionally good in any scenario

1911 ? I'm a purist. 1911s are .45 ACP or .38 Super. 🤷‍♂️

I think the modern 9mm "1911" is fine, but I wish they'd call it something else. And indeed Wilson makes some of the best. I think the trade off from .45 to 9mm is capacity. To me it just seems a little anti-climactic to have a 9mm with an 8-10 rd. magazine. All my 9s are German or Israeli and hold anywhere from 13 to 17 in the flush mount mags. That's just my way of thinking though, everything ain't for everybody.

As for the WC upper, mine is a Ranger 16" in 5.56. Guaranteed 1/2 MOA at 100 yards with match grade ammo. It's extremely accurate. More accurate than the BCM, but that is kinda wasted on me since I don't really look at those carbines as long range or bullseye rifles. All of mine except one are set up with non magnified dots, zero'ed at 50 yards. I built a .223 Wylde that has a Bushnell Elite 6500 on it that I use for 200-500 yard plinking.

Anyway, the Wilson is very nice. Chad from SOTAR says the Wilson BCGs he has analyzed haven't been stellar, but mine is solid. Came with Colt gold extractor spring and insert, proper gas key staking and fasteners, Nickel Boron and has been great.

Agreed
Capacity and cost to train with are the very reasons I switched to 9’s except for 3 .40 cal’s I still have. I’ll take capacity over size almost every time..
We run all our ARs with dots zeroed at 50 too,
So you also have a (really close) 200 yd zero with a 55g round. You can run them out to 300 without having to think about it too much. It does depend on the target size.
Smaller than an IPSC torso you’ll have to really slow down a lot.

I trained with .45s for years. I would say over the last 4 years it's been strictly 9mm. Mostly HKs until I picked up a Masada S a year or so ago. That is the perfect AIWB gun for me. 13+1 in a flush mag, 17 rd. extended mag in a MRT leather sheath.

I heard a lot about a 36 yard zero, but for me 50 yards is perfect. Most of what I do with a carbine is defensive training and a 200 yard shot is plenty. I have no problems banging 8" or even 6" steel at 100 yards, 200 yards a silhouette is fairly easy. Past that I need magnification anyway.

I train with a shotgun the most though. Well, probably about the same as a pistol. Maybe no legitimate reason for that other than I just love shotguns.

Me too
I especially love pump shotguns. Im not sure why I don’t train with them much, except for a KSG that I knew I better train with due to the way it feeds and the tube selecter being so different from everything I was used to.
If you don’t get that dam feed tube selecter lever solidly into place you can induce a failure to feed, and it’s up inside the ejection well.
I have an Eotech on it zeroed at 30 yards.
I didn’t put much thought into the distance on zeroing distance on it, I guess I figured if I actually had to run it, it would likely be in a home defensive scenario and that zero works for everything out to at least 50 yards. I’ve never shot it past 50 that I can remember.
It’s a cool gun but I’m not sure it would hold up well if run hard for tons of weekends.
Kel Tech is not known for long term reliability,
but I will say I’ve not had a single failure in probably slightly less than 400 rounds through it that I didn’t induce myself 😂
Main shotgun is a Remington marine magnum 18” 870 that I have had forever.
I frikking love that thing, it will still be running when I am dead and gone! 😂

I’ve been through at least three boxes of the Monarch, 250 counts, without a single failure with two different pistols. 🤞

Going all the way back to Bill Clinton bro. They are the first mother fuckers to crank the prices up and fuel panic buying. $400 is $400 though.
