You really don't get money do you. You are a short term thinker. You need to look at the cost of everything in terms of the long term. Good quality bread costs a lot when you have to buy it. Over the years it adds up. Look at all the flows in a spreadsheet and compute it. Then compute the cost of doing it yourself. Same with pizzas, restaurants and coffee. I get all the good stuff for the cost that most people would pay for very ordinary stuff. It costs me my own time - however when you are retired it's good for you to be active and do things.

I've had that coffee machine for 5 years - it has paid itself off a long long time ago.

No, I don't blow money on very expensive, relatively frivolous shit cause I know what 5k means to the average person out there. You're living in la-la land bro. You can make bread without a 3k dough mixer. You can make decent coffee without spending 5k. Nobody needs a pizza oven to survive. I make enough bread to do me for a month in one go. It's very time efficient doing it that way.

It's not frivoulous. You can't take it with you. If you are living on a musican's wage then I get why you might think it's opulent though.

The difference between a large pizza and a musician is a large pizza can feed a family of four.
