Hey, who changed my member status title without a land acknowledgement? Its got to be either @Techdeth or @DanTravis62
We're not supposed to do this but he prolly didn't realise 'cause he's "new".

Our policy for years now has been not to do it but leave the existing ones in-place.

It doesn't take a Helluva-lot of thought experimentation to see the inevitable scenarios. Pandora's box.

Apart from what I said previously, the bottom line is that it'll create a bunch of ongoing, unnecessary additional work for the mods.

Well if they’re taking requests I’ll go with Phuk Yu Hung Lo.

That's exactly the root of the "problem" brother.

When peeps see this sort of thing, everyone wants in. Then they want to change their titles 'cause the novelty or joke wore off, and on it goes.

The requests start every time this is even discussed. Every single time.

In anticipation of the usual pattern of previous discussions, this is where someone steps in and suggests we all be allowed to change our own, so I'll nip that in-the-bud too:

Who's going to monitor the vast, ever-changing landscape of peeps' ongoing edits? Folks will concoct inappropriate ones where they'll have a dig at other members or label themselves mods, staff or admin (could be used for scamming) and so on.

There're good reasons, I imagine, why the vast majority of audio forums don't allow it. I've been a member of a shedload and not one has operated that way. All the popular software allows the option AFAIA, but it's not enabled.

As I said earlier, the bottom line is unnecessary work for the mods.
