You would think so but it depends on the moderation and they have a heavy hand.. for example, you will see posts like " Are X race really lazier"? With hundreds of comments, yet in a sports forum, you will be banned for any hint of political affiliation. It's a dangerous precedent to set because you are telling me that Reddit will have porn and racism but kick you out of a forum for a joke or drawing a humorous parallel or because some woke idiot thinks the world is a better place without Putin or Trump. Furthermore, say you have watched a documentary and have an opinion.. if the AI bot doesn't like your comment or someone feels as if it doesn't share the same opinion of the community, your comment is removed. It will say that the format of your comment wasn't posed as a question or that you violated some term of how you can answer with your opinion. Even worse is when you challenge a ban, the moderator can will send you one email back and then block you from any correspondence or any way to discuss what the issue might be and whether or not it is a misunderstanding. You have to be very careful. I know all this because I bought Reddit stock early and have been playing with it a bit to get a sense of how solid my investment is. To be honest, this is not a long term hold. The moderation and lack of standard across the board is shocking. It is heavy handed, is largely entrusted to the moderator and not the platform, and there is little recourse to challenge anything. But yet.. tits an ass all day long and be as racist as you like as long as it is in the right forum. It is a useful resource for say " how to fix a leak" , but outside of that, if you have an opinion and a sense of humor, be careful.
There was another instance where someone posted a pic of SRV in a halloween costume with black face ( looked more like light shoe polish) and i said big deal, a legend playing homage to a legend and if anything. SRV looks like he has a strung out face. The guy was an addict. Guess what? BANNED for racist comment lol.
I've since set the date for when the stock hits a certain value and then I'm unloading. I watch the social commentary and there is growing concern about Reddit's policies and lifetime bans. My argument to them ( which they usually just block me) is that as an investor, this is not the behavior that will BRING people to the platform. What it will do, is drive them away.
