TU3 goes out of tune vs Polytune

Used TU2s for years and always liked them.

Now I play mostly in drop B.

The Polytune3 handles this easily, smooth, sounds in tune (which helps!).. great.

Bought a TU3 and it’s a match with the Polytune for 5 out of the 6 strings.

As soon as I get to the low B. The boss falls apart. Can’t detect the note, wavers all over the place.

Once I do get it in tune. It’s actually flat (compared to the Polytune).. it it sounds flat too to play.

TU3 works fine for more regular tunings but it can’t low tune to save itself which is a surprise

Polytune is vastly superior to the TU3.

Just tune your low B to the other B on the 4th string. Or use the 12th fret harmonic for the low B.

I switched to Peterson and I'm not looking back. The clips laying around my bedroom handle whatever instrument I pick up, from ukulele to bass, and the mini stomp on my board is the best tuner I've ever used. It honestly makes me sound better live because it's so accurate.

12th harmonic doesn’t work if tuner itself is out of tune. Still seems pretty jumpy on a low b harmonic too for some reason on the tu3

Plus it’s a pain when I can use the polytune with all open strings

@saxxamafone I live through the EXACT same scenario with the exact same pedals and have the exact same results. Polytune gets me in tune in seconds, TU3 is jumpy and inaccurate. I don't like the effect of it's buffer either, when it is first in the chain. Not sure why it is so highly praised.

The TU3's buffer actually clips with any pickup mid output and up too.

Man, what fucking poorly designed pedal, LOL.

I've used a TU-2 for 20 years.
Tried to upgrade to the TU-3,
but the TU-3 was un-useable.

Bought a Peterson.....hate the strobe too

Still using the TU-2...

Maybe I need to look at the Polytune 3
