He also promised to reduce needless government spending, including foreign aid. We could best help both places by not meddling in the disputes of two neighbors who live across a large lake from us. Strict isolationism should be the sum total of our foreign policy but I guess I am just speaking from my thoughts on how I mostly live my life, not necessarily anyone's else's. But he could by simply keeping his other promise of not spending taxpayers money on dumb shit like funding a losing war that he already promised to end. Two promises broken. Yet here you are saying "yeah he promised to go west and he's now going east but he can still turn around and go west as long as he does it before 4 years is up and all's forgiven"
Our founders are mostly placed on a pedestal until it comes to foreign policy and personal foibles. To me they are like most governmental minded types, mostly a bunch of dirtbags as evidenced by so many of them having allegiances to secret societies and secret proceedings. That's why I say Kennedy was the last person to hold the oval office that had one honest bone left in his body. He shed light into those dark places. The post war American vision for a better place became mired down in a sea of post modern elite cretins guiding our society to it's ultimate moral/social demise. You are rationalizing what anybody who is not emotionally invested can see are plainly and egregiously broken promises and a slap in the face to the people who supported him. It's sad.
