Yep a nice flat culture where people are fucking arrogant pricks who think they are better than others - unlike some.

Also a healthy hatred for authority goes a long way.
I wasn’t throwing shade, I was being serious. I have no idea what to make of your response?

You mean that I was right about everything?

I mean what I said in the first place basically.
If all businesses are on the same playing field by paying a minimum living wage then one restaurant can't undercut their prices by the amount of staff wages to out compete another restaurant. Prices set at the restaurant for food and service then cover the wages and people don't necessarily pay more because they went up by the amount the tip (assuming the amount of the tip + the food price = the full price for a restaurant meal including wages). Then when you read a menu and see the prices you know automatically how much you are paying because the prices are transparent. You don't have to do maths in your head to work out the price.
The reason why your restaurants aren't paying their staff a proper wage is because if they did the restaurant down the road wouldn't have to and could undercut them on prices. With higher legislated minimum wages everyone has to pay them and they can't do that.

No, the flat culture, arrogant pricks, better than others, unlike some, hatred for authority, etc.
No idea what any of that means

It means your culture is less falt than ours and you think you are better than people from other countries including like countries such as Australia and Canada. In day to day life unlike Australians your country is less flat socially whereas in Australia our culture was brought up to hate authority and social stratification and to tear down social classes. We also call it tall poppy syndrome. If you see a tall poppy you cut its head off. Like hammering down the nail that's sticking up amongst the others.

I see now.
Not everyone in the US is as you describe, just FYI.

Maybe but I didn't make up the term "American Exceptionalism" which is a major part of your bloody politics. We are still in the room when your politicians talk about that shit you know. Do you think we don't fucking cringe.

Actually closer to the truth is your country doesn't care what any other country thinks and that absolutely reinforces my point,

Well it was true at one time.

The USA is unique. No other country is like it. But everyone wants to act like they know and shit on it without understanding it

That's arrogant too.

How is Australia any different to America except for the size of the population? Mostly it's better here in terms of the standard of living - it's far more consistent too. No slum cities.

It's all about population size plus we led in and dropped nuclear as you know.

Yes, we have leveraged off these things. Add to that our media boxes us in with its services as all we really get fed en masse is our country only.

Yes, many of us are violently ignorant of other countries and hopefully people start to look outside of ourselves but again, the press keeps us boxed in good and tight.

Like everywhere on the planet there is good and bad in each country but because of our size we look like BIG assholes...at times.

I actually really respect Australias openess to decide so much of their daily lives. I can see Thumbpicker loading his Harley into a truck, changing it in for an electric model, whilst Won Ya Land stands across the street and laughs.

Population gives you economies of scale but your standard of living isn't significantly better than here.

We don't beat our chest and have a war mongering culture bragging about a military force either.

I actually don't like that aspect of the US anyway. It's nicer here. It's just as developed.

This is where I'm sitting right now. You wouldn't know you're not in the US. We live just as well as you do.

Australians really don't get to decide their daily lives, they're prisoners to a socialist regime that charges them up the ass for everything because there's no serious competition and so price fixing amongst the players is across the board for everything.

This is the serious drawback to being an island as many companies can't be bothered to swim the waters to get there. Those who do just join in gouging Australians for everything.

Looks like the start of a 1998 Vivid Video production

I hate our left wing government - but you hated your last government too. Trump fucked our rightwing party at the last election because his behaviour scared the fuck out of most of the people here and they voted against it. Because of that our conservative party got trounced. That's sad because as I said I hate leftwing governments.

Nice rug.

Much of the world is just as developed as you mentioned, it's 2025 and not 1975. For those who travel the world they know this too today.

Our military bragging could be a little less but it generates jobs, careers, money and so many other things. As you mentioned economies based on scale drives this bragging in a big way here. We're a big ship and Hollywood reminds us and the rest of the world everyday so they do have a lot to answer for in the bragging department.

I don't believe for a moment it was Trump as I believe it was your press and your citizens, like most anywhere, swallowed it all without question. I believe we own most of your media there so you can imagine the slant they were told to sell there as again, we own them.

I don't need that article because I know what happened from personal experience... but there's plenty more where that came from... I just picked one... I haven't read it properly.
