Correct. They are afraid to actually talk to their children about real life things

That's why we have this:

Seriously though, what do you think the left is trying to restrict? I get gun laws, but what after that?
I’m genuinely curious as I am admittedly more aware of what the right tries to take away

We are trying to take America back.

The areas where gas equipment is banned is pretty miniscule. I’ve had to do tons of research on it.
As is the bathroom thing. I am a man with young daughters and can’t think of a time I e had to worry about them in a restroom or finding one to use with them. It’s all blown out of proportion bullshit as usual

I think he was talking about American daughters in general. Not your kids specifically.

I don’t see any of those things restricting much. It’s all fear based propaganda and opinions formed upon it.

If you feel forced to accept anything that comes down to your own weak constitution and very clearly indicative of your refusal to see others as equals.

Interesting you bring up free speech too because I don’t see the left banning many books.

We see people as equals and we support restricting certain books that are not appropriate for children's school libraries.

I dunno man. I just think you and I have different ideas of what it means to restrict rights.

Probably.

all fear based.

No.

We feel these abnormal sexual topics are best taught by the parent and not the school/school book.

Why educate when you can shield?

I shielded my kids from abnormal sexual behavior. Just like I shielded them from other abnormal activities. Now they are healthy young American men who have the knowledge and maturity to do their own research and make up their own minds as to what is right or wrong.

You don't see it because of where you live

But that is the crux of it right there. It’s not about “right or wrong”. You saying a lifestyle you don’t agree with is “wrong” is far more controlling and restrictive than someone else simply putting a book on a shelf for anyone to choose read or not read.
Choices are being taken away from people

Would you take your daughters to an X rated movie?

Eh fuck it, since you mentioned it. No I would not bring them to one.
Nor would I push to ban them for other people

We wouldn't have to ban things if people used common sense.

I agree.
Tell me, have you ever been in a school or library and seen an X rated book for yourself?

If you did see one, did you read it? Do you have any actual first hand experience with something that you think our country should ban?

Or do you have social media?

When it comes to children, i do think some things should be banned or age restricted. Guns, sexual content, booze, violence, gambling etc. and seems like that is the norm since there are already rules about that in place.
Not in my district, but we have friends where their 8yr old kids are talking about genders and such, parents were like "where did you hear about that?"
"My teacher".
What books are being banned, just curious. I keep hearing about this but have yet to see a list of the books.
Some states are 100% blue, and it would seem that local politics would affect content in local libraries and schools more than who is in the white house. Which books in the Berkshires are banned?
I am not on social media at all. Never joined any of that shit.

LMAO!!!!! This sounds just like one of those dumbass flat earth arguments. "Have you seen the globe for yourself, have you gone to space? Or do you just have fake NASA pictures?"

Not a valid comparison. There are not x rated books in schools and libraries
There are though. Books describing in detail gay oral sex are specific examples of books that some on the right are citing as inappropriate.

Can you name some books that have been banned from schools that are actually appropriate for children, that's the real question.

Are there books in existence that you think should not be allowed in schools or do you think it should be anything goes ?

Gay sex is not any more inappropriate than straight sex. And if you think kids aren’t learning about that you need to get out more

Only one book that I know of they attempted to ban in a school district near me and it was an absolute shit show. Gender Queer I think it was called. I can’t say I’ve read it, but what I’ve seen people complain about are things that I think could be beneficial for those seeking it out.

Back to the original point in all this; if it was part of the curriculum. If kids were told to read it to pass, I could understand some outrage.
For it simply being a resource for those looking for it, I think it is very beneficial. Teachers aren’t handing it out for homework.

There are a lot of students who are gay, think they might be gay, have gay parents or family members etc, you get where I’m going, and given some of the responses in this very thread, it’s easy to see why they may be uncomfortable talking about it with people, possibly their own parents.

I can’t imagine any scenario where anyone would want their kid learning about something like this on the internet instead of a published and screened book.

Not everyone has to like it, but that doesn’t mean it should be available to others that might benefit from it
