Thanks! I did get over the headstock offense lol and now I really like it. Especially knowing it’s a headstock from Gibson’s earlier history. And it lends to better tuning. Thanks again!!

That's crazy. I've been looking at Les Pauls (Gibsons to be fair) for a decade always checking out weights and I've never seen or heard of a solid body LP that light. I searched for 2-3 yrs for my last R8 which rings like a bell and is 8.5lbs. Again, congrats

Yeah, my last R8 was about the same weight as yours. I double checked- on this model a chambered body is not in the specs; just lightweight mahogany.

Crazy these things are half the price of a Gibson custom shop.
I have a 2007 h150 and I’m yet to play a better Les Paul.
The headstock grows on you pretty quick you once you have one.

My main hangup with Heritage LPs ironically has always been weight (not the headstock lol). Love it and I’ll be keeping my eye out for one of my own

their standard H-150 models are heavier- but the Custom Shop Core models they aspire to using lighter woods. Those are not always under 8 pounds like mine...usually 8.3-8.5 ish or so from the ones I've seen while shopping.

Yes they are. The tops are also like the earlier Les Paul’s in which the top, though carved, is much flatter than the usual Gibson Les Paul tops of modernity. Not completely flat mind you, but a more subtle arch.

Beautiful guitar. The Gibson open-book headstock is just a clunky dreadnaught acoustic type of headstock. It’s not a great looking or optimally functional headstock. It’s just what people are accustomed to. To me the Heritage headstock is superior.
I had a 12-pound H150 that was gorgeous and sounded amazing…but 12 pounds and that was when I was gigging.
Just lose the pickguard and don’t add a stupid poker chip that names the positions Treble/Rhythm. Dumb as fuck in 2025. People somehow figured out Strat 5-way switches without labels. Let all of that top breathe!

Yes the standard models are indeed heavier than the Custom Shop Core variants as you describe. I’ve seen many in the 9+ to over ten pound range of the Standard H-150’s.

Funny enough, the only thing I dislike IS the Heritage Pickguard, although I am ignoring it. I may pull if off and just leave it off, or install the traditional rocket fin. I do like both (on/off) variants. As far as the 'poker chip', though I think it's part of the traditional and essential LP look, your point resonates with me a lot. But more than that, I don't really want to spend a ton of money on a '50 cents of plastic' part. We'll see.
