Maybe i just keep the Lenz. Then i have an excuse to get a second Cab and a second guitar. That's the Rig-Talk-Way of doing it :D



Lenz = more omph, Marshall = more high mid grind.

I rarely change. I've gone as long as 2 years on strings..LOL Takes about 2-3 weeks before they start to lose that annoying strident weird thing.
 
Thanks for the comparison. I understand that booth are boosted by TS-808. Did you run the Lenz with the boost stage off?
Also how did you set the depth and NFB switch with the Lenz?
 
The Lenz is more like a Dual Recto, If I remember correctly isn't this the mod you had him do it? The Marshall...well... is a Marshall with all those mids and highs with more grind in those frequencies.

It's crazy that you went through all those high gainers only to come back to a stock Marshall......I get it though....when you find something that works for you it just works.........and when it works and you are happy with the sound and feel playing is a much more rewarding experience!:2thumbsup:

I usually keep them for about 1 year until i change them. But i use 14-68 D'Addario. 2-3 Years is long :)

Settings like you see them in the Clip. No knobs pulled.
I just made a new Clip. Lenz straight in vs boosted Marshall, both turned up loud.

Still kinda sounds like a modded Marshall to me, with his own take.
Yes, that's right. It works. I still hate it sometimes though :D
But it's the only Amp from which i still get goosebumps.

I've just added the new clip. Lenz Straight in, with the NFB aka Attack pulled vs the boosted 2203.

In the old Clip the octane was a bit too round+smooth, the marshall the opposite.
In the new clip that's gone(y) and the octane cuts nicely.
which one do you like better in person?
with studio magic you can make them sound the same, i guess...

love new strings! The attack and note separation is so much better with fresh strings!
they already get muddy after 3 times playing or so... (the uncoated ones).
I swore myself to never adjust an amp with old strings (still do it though).
Because the plain strings will always stay kinda bright, but the wound strings get muddy quick. i don't want to increase that inbalance any further.
I normally use the guitars with muddy strings for unplugged practicing and try to only use fresh strings for playing with the amp...

I usually change them once a year. They are thick.

I always leave the Guitar raw.
They are both really good.
