I’m sure I’m over thinking it, but God isn’t conditional to me. If we are using his rules as a guide to govern a country, you can’t then turn around and litigate around Gods same words.I don’t think they were inferring those rights only existed for Americans bro. They believed they were natural rights. Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. In the absence of the ability to draft a binding system of government recognizing those rights for all of humanity should they have just said fuck it ?
Like let’s take guns. God given right to bare arms. Say @JDs Couch wanders down from Canada and wants to buy a gun in America. I’m guessing he could not, right? He would have to thumb it back to the tundra being denied his God given inalienable right to protect themselves in their pursuit of happiness.
If we use Gods guidance to make the rules, who are we to deny a human his rights? Make sense?
I’m just saying if you are to use God’s words, you gotta use all of em
