As you guys know, I gig with a Super Crush 100 combo so really curious how this will compare. Big differences I've read about:
- More modern sound
- Presence control
- More Gain
- XLR output can use various IR options

I can also toss it in a bag with a cab and be set. We'll see how it sounds when I get it. I know I'll dig it since it is not a huge departure from my Super Crush.

I gave the Gain Baby 100 a whirl when I got home and great amp! As expected, has that Super Crush 100 DNA but is definitely different.

Tons more gain than the Super Crush. I'm in metal territory at 11 o'clock and the SC has to get up at 2 or 3 o'clock. Has more low end as well. Definitely can do the chug thing better than the Super Crush. The Super Crush has more mids, less highs and less lows. It is like a rock or.hard rock amp. The Gain Baby seems to have a more usable mid knob and lots of highs and presence.

It is great having the Tight switch but as others have mentioned in reviews, id much rather use my own boost. The Tight Switch does a great job but adds a "Sizzle" to the tone that is more manageable if you turn down the Treble and Presence knobs. Don't get me wrong, it is cool but still need to mess with it more.

I played the Gain Baby thru my Marshall vertical 2x12 and EVH 1x12 and both sounded great. I think im going to get a V30 1x12 cab to pair with the EVH 1x12 and will be a great mix.

So far im impressed and want to play around with it a bit more.

Ok, dropped the Presence a bit and helped with that sizzle on the top. With the gain lowered, can use the Tight switch and a boost and sound kiiler.

Well i love the tones in the Gain Baby with my two 1x12 cabs but might be an effects loop issue (occasionally pops with pedals" so want to see if it is an issue or if they all do that.

I ordered a Dual Baby because I think it is more versatile and then going to send the Gain Baby back for a refund. This will be a good test. Im enjoying the tones so much though that I will keep the Dual Baby even if the loop does the popping. It is like a heavier sounding Super Crush 100.

The Dual Baby has the SC100 gain circuit in channel 1.
Yep and can definitely tell! I was playing tonight and had that familiar tone im used to. The one thing this has is the Presence control and useful in bringing out a bit more sparkle.

The two channels are very similar in some ways, especially as the gain goes up but Channel B is definitely tighter, even without the Tight switch on.

I still think a boost pedal is perfect with the Baby series,. My Keeley Noble Screamer is perfect with it as is my Boris Frankenstein boost (the one Wayne made for me).

No the Dual Baby has the most metal gain channel.
I tell you what, both channels got some good hard rock and metal vibes.🤘 When you get that gain cranked on Channel A, there is some good chug in there. I still think a clean boost pedal is gold wirh these things. The amps have great gain but can get flubby and the boost just turns these amps into real grind.

Im still.playing around with different boosts. The ones I have sound killer but wondering if there is one that excels at retaining the amp's low end and just adds some gain.
