I just gave it to them for a pickup swap, my mistake. They must have really had it in for me.

Two paint chips and a multi-direction scratch. I couldn't believe it. I complained, as it's a big company here, but my poor guitar is ruined.

Anyway, the Bareknuckle pickups sound good. And it's not like any of my other guitars are free of scratches anyway, though that's also no fault og my own.

Here's a recording:

Sounds great imho, but quite hard to look at what was a great guitar reduced to that. I guess I really shouldn't worry too much about these things anyway.

Wrote some "meaningful" lyrics to go with the song, sort of to give myself some perspective:

"Not free or for sale forevermore,
The answer is and will always be "no",
I'm taking it with me when I go,
*Something something, go f yourself?* it's the end of the road"

That’s insane- can you sue? Otherwise maybe aristides can fix up the finish for you?

They didn’t go beyond the primer, you can use some touch up paint and buff and polish to repair it. It will take some work but it’s not ruined.

That would piss me off big time.

I've watched some of these guitar techs at GC and local music stores, and the way many handle instruments is like the old Samsonite commercial with the gorilla throwing the suitcase around.

I've been doing my own setups for many years; and while I don't enjoy it nor am I very good at soldering I'll do my own pickup swaps. Even though I find it tedious, and it takes me longer than most to do it.

You can find decent inexpensive soldering kits - I use one I got for my kid to learn how to solder; it comes with practice projects to learn how to solder as an extra bonus.

I replaced the stock pickups in my Chibanez with DiMarzios last year:

Didn't you also post in here that someone went in your house and dinged it up right after you got it?

The "shitterati" I believe you called them

Shit like that is why I have trust issues and learn to do jobs myself. I really don’t like having to be reliant on others. I remember seeing on another forum a guy had pickups changed in a Mayones Regius core and the shop blew a pickup mounting screw through the back of the guitar.

A few of my guitars need a fret leveling but I haven’t been too excited about finding someone to do it. I finally cracked with one guitar I want to play but wasn’t really in playable condition so I ordered the tools and leveled, crowned, and dressed the frets. Took hours and not the cleanest job but it plays way better. I’ve since ordered better tools and will practice some more on my cheaper guitars and work my way up to the nicer stuff.

Who was it in that undertook your 060? Gosh... did they compensate and come clean before you collected it?

Did they also spray his V30's with water?

I sure am glad none of these house breaking, "gear vandals" know where I live.
