I think I read she was hired in 2016. Not sure who the president was then and if he knew her before he hired her, but I don’t think she was also the attorney general like what Trump is doing.
There is a reason branches of government stay separate

For the record, presidents usually fire most or all of the leftovers from the previous administrations, though the timing of this one looks pretty bad. It is probably true though that this person is full of shit.
